I didn't think it was that bad. Not sure why the weird people talk as they do, and the green screen was noticeable, but the Carol, Morgan and Daryl bits are still good.

Main problem right now is that Rick et al are wearing mighty thick plot armour, so all the supposedly scary scenes are kinda not scary.

It was like a TOS, the fight Spiky, and the greenscreen.

I hope it sorts itself out.

Holy shit, it's actually a good, honest to goodness, decent episode today with some nice nuanced and ambiguous character acting. Why can't every episode but like this. Y'know, without any fucking tigers, robot zombies, bad CGI or terrible actors spouting drivel.

Yes. It was pretty good. I love Negan and his leadership book from HMS Bounty. The ones without Rick are a lot better.

If I were making a list of 'things I don't miss once I finally made the decision to give them up', The Walking Dead would probably manage a pretty close tie with Class A drugs.

I think the only ones I'd like to have another go at is hallucinogens, because I really did love those, but even then it was taking my brain far too long to recover from them towards the end.

All the other stuff was on a massive curve of diminishing returns, like the last time I did MDMA I was totally flat for days afterwards, which is when I finally said 'that was the last time' - the few hours of euphoria weren't worth the days it took my battered serotonin system to get back to normal.

There was a bit of a last hurrah with inernet-sourced legal highs a few years ago (2010-ish), those LU Doves pills were fun, and mephedrone/methylone were interesting (but are all totally illegal now in that new 'cathinones' category), but even then I went on a three day bender with them and was on such a crash afterwards that four days later when the world was still totally in black and white and I hadn't felt a proper emotion for days, I realised it really was time to get off the drugs train.

(I sold my entire meph/meth stash at 50% of its retail value just to get rid of it, despite the fact it was clearly going in the ZOMG ILLEGAL category in a short space of time as it'd hit 'Daily Mail Territory' with all that 'meow meow' plant food shite.)

The mephedrone phase coincided nicely with a couple of the BEEX MAME challenges, which is why I was posting Raiden and Space Invaders scores as late (or early.....) as 3:41am in the morning - viewtopic.php?p=484544#p484544

So yes, overall, I think drugs are one of those things you can definitely have a phase for (which can be measured in years or decades), but ultimately there needs to come a time to stop, because it can't last forever.

Also, The Walking Dead, that fucking awful CGI deer, eh?

Not a bad episode but not too good either. Two zombos get stabbed in the head like a causal after thought which kinda shows how important they are these days. Crying Daryl really made me tear up though. Only it didn't. Obv.

Yeah. I'm classing it as a firm medium. Was expecting another shite episode this week (seems to alternate) so I was very slightly surprised.

I'm going to bet the house that anyone expecting a big fight for the finale is going to be sorely upset as it invariably gets dragged out to next season.

I'm calling it. Next season it will be renamed Horrornation Street.

It will run for a further 20 years, new characters moving over from Emmerdale and Hollyoaks.
