Was it alright though? Simple, straightforward, cheap etc?

I think I used it once then realised I had no need for it. I got a free gift though, sent by post. You should ask for one.

What are you actually trying to do? Anything involving bloody faxes means there's likely a better easier way to do it now.

Solicitors still use faxes so I was thinking I'd like a dedicated fax number but I don't want the hassle of arranging a second telephone line. I was thinking that this would be the cheaper option initially: I don't pay for a second line installation, line rental or even a fax machine vs. paying £8 a month through myfax.

After the nth time the sky box didn't turn on the first time, I gave them a call to ask about notice periods on the contract. The person asked why, so I said the box was a bit knackered and virgin would send me a hd box and stuff so I was considering this. The person is now sending me a sky hd+ box and i have half price line rental and broadband for a few months. Which was an unexpected result, as it works out as costing the same with the new HD packages after the half price stuff runs out, but I'm considering it a win as only had to make one call. Their customer service is pretty good with regards to waiting times and resolution. YAY, shiny. SO we're basically paying £600 a year to watch the walking dead and Game of Thrones. Something's wrong there.

On Saturday morning I awoke with a jolt and tried to roll over. The huge amount of pain I felt in my neck made this tricky. I lay there and moaned a bit until the wife brought me some tea. I couldn't move my head at all without my neck hurting. Powering through the pain with ibruprofen, paracetomol and ale I've made it into work. What the hell has happened? Why does it hurt? I've done nothing strenuous with it. My neck, right shoulder and upper arm really hurt (note the expert avoidance of comma splicing there, folks). Wosson wit dat?

Trailer for about the only thing that Microsofts TV division will ever actually get to put out (and a very apt subject)

http://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/wat ... er#!bvlhcr

Quote:

Microsoft has shared the first trailer for Atari: Game Over, the Xbox-exclusive documentary about Atari, the 1983 video game industry crash, and the New Mexico desert mass burial of the famously terrible E.T. game. In April 2014, Microsoft funded an excavation of the New Mexico landfill where Atari dumped thousands of unsold copies of the terrible E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial adaptation that nearly sank the entire emerging video games industry. The documentary, directed by Zak Penn, interviews everyone from the game’s creator and Atari’s executives to residents of Alamogordo, NM, where the unsold games were buried for decades. Atari: Game Over is one of the few projects to escape from the collapse of Xbox Entertainment Studios, which fell as collateral damage to Microsoft’s recent restructuring. The documentary comes out this fall on Xbox Live and xboxvideo.com.

First day at my new job went well. Only took IT two hours to reactivate my network account. Apparently they know me as 'Civil War guy'. Could be worse, I suppose.

Is anyone else finding that sometimes posts are taking a while to, well, post? Pages are loading as quickly as usual in general but whenever I click to actually submit a post I'm often waiting up to ten seconds for it to go through. I started noticing it at the tail end of last week but I've only really been posting from work so I don't know if I'm seeing it outside work or not. And I only mention it to give Grim a head-up in case there's something happening he should know about, I can put up with it as is no bother like.

Just testing if it is slower from the reply screen, rather than the quick reply box...

Edit: not noticeably. It's actually pretty quick to post at the moment, but is has definitely been a lot slower recently.

Curious.

I'll optimise the database later and see if that helps (can't do it while Beex is busy, it'll lock it up for a while).

For those who don't know, 'optimise the database' means 'have a wank'.

A remake of a *great* remake , of a groundbreaking game :-)

If you never played the GC version it was really well done and added a lot to the game (if you want to be really picky with your remake stuff Resi 1 was remade shortly after it was first released with the 'directors cut' version)

I assume if it does well they may also re-make Resi0 which was another great game (that only had a GC release if i remember correctly)

That's just cause the Gamecube was so ahead of its time :-)

The Remake and Resi0 were Gamecube exclusives so would be good to get them on something for people now and probably will be used to drum up enthusiasm for the inevitable Resi7

Oh dear, it would appear the National Lottery's website was designed by retarded monkeys.

I login and go to update my address with them, which involves a postcode lookup. My address is returned from that lookup with a flat number in the format '2/2', which is all fine and good. When I try to submit that it errors because the address line contains an invalid character i.e. the slash. If I change that slash to a dash and submit it the process fails because they can't validate the new address; because their address database has no trace of a flat number '2-2'. They've designed it such that the field validation isn't compatible with the address data they force you to use!

Congratulations, you fucking idiots!

NO! Make new games Mr Developer! That's man power being used on stuff that isn't new stuff.

I used to live in a flat that thought it would be "trendy" to have a decimal place in your number. I was floor eighteen, flat six, so my flat number was "18.06".

I used to get that shit constantly. I couldn't get a mortgage (this came up on here recently), and had a hell of a time trying to get a mobile phone on contract or a credit card.

Dicks.
