Funny you mention this. I've just got my funsquare back from london and am endeavouring to fix its knackered DVD drive. Looks like a simple case of stabilising the spinny doodad so that the DVDs aren't wobbling over the laser. Samsung didn't bother doing it right, the cheap bastards.
It's quite funny really - MS apparently made a big fuss about how easy it was to open and mod the original funsquare, so they made the superplus 'hard' to open. I got mine open in about twenty minutes with a run of the mill screwdriver and a pair of nail scissors, and even did it without visibly lifting the 'warranty void' seal. Idiots.
I bought mine second hand, so the DVD drive thing wasn't covered (even though it's down to simple lazy manufacturing), and it would have cost £60 to send off and repair. Even if I have to buy a new drive, it'll be £20, and if the RROD comes up and/or the warranty seal is buggered, I'll simply go
here. I've only browsed that site a little, but they seem very good and, though they are selling stuff, they seem to be honest about it and only selling things that are genuinely useful. They have a RROD fixing kit for £15.
