INCORRECT.

It's a Tigger outfit. Tigger isn't a tiger. For some reason.

[edit] Although he clearly is if you look at the toys the characters were based on:

We got our appointment today for the 12 week scan, sounds stupid but it’s really made it “real” for me. My wife has had some shitty morning sickness to date (in that she felt sick but never was) but that had faded into the background a bit and some days I would forget that she is pregnant for a while!?

Very excited but also thinking “You’re 42 what on earth are you doing?”

All in all can't wait.

Yes its our first

It great I can discuss it online as currently its top secret for family and friends in case there is something wrong etc that shows with the scan.

My wifes sister lost her first kid at around 12 weeks so that is adding to the "not telling" etc

Driving me nuts as I don't have a clue what to expect and can't tell any of my mates who have 2 or more kids so I can get some advice

Congrats Mr Fish :)

It's all a bit of a voyage of discovery but I'm sure you'll be fine. Having some family around who've 'done' babies before is a help, but it's amazing how much of it just comes from instinct.

It will change your life forever, and it will change it for better.

Teaching kids how to play eggbox is a noble calling.

Burny Pee and Star Wars Lego are faves here.

Oddly, I made two videos of the Grimlet playing games tonight. The first is the new Marvel Avengers Kinect game:

And then Mark of the Ninja, which he gets to play because his mother isn't here.

So far, he's completed Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (which he did while he was still only three years old :S), Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2, Lego Star Wars IV-VI, Lego Pirates of the Caribbean, Marvel vs Capcom 3 (arcade mode on easy), Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (arcade mode on medium, somehow) and I'm sure there's something else but I've completely forgotten. I'll look at his cheevos later.

He doesn't really like the driving ones, though - which is a bit odd as he's going to be an F1 driver. Never mind.

Horray for the Doms!

Also Mr Fish, Ma Squirt always said she got utterly stonking morning sickness with one gender of kids, and none with the other, which held over all six of us. I don't remember which way round it was, but maybe Mrs afish is the same.

She wants a girl and is convinced that she has one, that said she refuses to have the gender told to her at a scan. That does annoy me as I would like to know so you can sort names out etc beforehand.

However like most things these days I have to shut up and do what my wife wants :D

You can ask the nurse / doctor to tell just you (if they'll tell you at all - ours wouldn't).

Thanks for all the best wishes

We went for a walk today to buy a present a friend's birthday

On the way passed a baby equipment shop (it sells everything!) a family business, but huge, always noticed it as we do this walk quite often. Today though it had new relevance as it’s the first time we have been past it since the test was positive

So we went in, lots of great things but the prices?! £250 for car seat! The best thing I found was a sort of baby basket on an arm. It looked a bit like a console, (guess that’s why I was drawn to it) You could choose a load of different settings and the arm would move the basket in different ways whilst playing music. You could even hook an IPod up to it.

It chilled me out so I’m going to buy it (£200) the wife wants a £400 pram\buggy that is designed to let you go jogging\running with your kid, so to hell with it!

Yeah, all baby stuff is expensive. But you can always flog it once they've grown out of it or use it for the next one ;)

You can ask the nurse / doctor to tell just you (if they'll tell you at all - ours wouldn't).

Neither would ours, although she waved the ultrasound thing around Zioette's crutch and told us that - with the baby on it's side - boy bits would look like a turtle (big round shell=nuts, head poking out of shell=willy) and girl bits like a hamburger (two buns on top of each other).

We both saw a suspicously hamburger like shape, so we flat out asked the nurse if it was a girl, to which she gave a very subtle smile and nod.

That really made it real!

Of course, alternatively, you could always do the other thing we did and have names ready for either gender.
