Good to see UEFA taking the hard line against any racist chanting... Already. "It wasn't racists" they probably said, "they were upset that Krawkow isn't the host city. Nothing to do with racism, that". So, making monkey chants towards the Dutch Squad isn't being racist behaviour, it's an expression of frustration at the the beaurocracy of the tournament. Someone else said somewhere, that we mustn't assume that all Eastern European cultures are racists, as that is racist as well. Which is a fair point. I'm siding with Balotelli on this one. And, it seems, the UK government. Until the quarter finals, at least.

So I thought I would pop into my local council gym to try and join on the way home.

Me: Hi, I'd like to enquire about joining the gym, please.
GirlBehindcounter(GBC): The gym?
Me: Yes.
GBC: Just the gym?
Me: Yes.
*GBC reaches for a form - pauses, looks up*
GBC: How often would you use it?
Me: A couple of times a week-ish.
GBC: Oh, well your best bet is to join online - it's 27 a month then.
Me: okay...
GBC: You pay a month in advance though and have to give 30 day's notice.
Me: okay, but can I join today?
GBC: No, you need to go online, it is cheaper.
Me: okay, how much is it if I just join here and now?
GBC: you can't do that for the gym.
Me: So I can't join the gym, at the gym?
GBC: *smiling apologetically* No.
Me: That's crazy. *walks off*

So, I head home, slightly bemused and go to the website. Guess what I can't do. FFS.

(I think you wanted something extra on there about folding it in half - and then something more about not unfolding it between times)

For Bobby I would not be suprised if instead of asking to join 'just the gym' if you'd asked for membership they would have given you a super duper special pass that would allow you gym access and allow you to park your car outside the window every second tuesday as long as you bought a coffee from their vending machine and it would have cost 9 pence more than just buying a membership for the gym

So, I looked in the source of the website, and there is a load of links which just don't show up.

Edit: One of which takes you to an external website called GymLondon.

Why the fuck didn't they just tell me to go to that website in the first place?

Offer to fix their website for a 6 month membership ?

(offer to write them a document they can give to people explaining how to get to the links which dont work in exchange for a 2 month membership)

After three trips to the doctor I thik I'm going to remove this lump behind my ear myself. They all said it was 'tricky' to do, so I figure I'll buy some scalpels, grit my teeth, make an X, remove the lump, and then somehow glue it up. Obviously, working backwards in a mirror is the only real flaw to this plan, but I'm sure it'll be fine.

I finish at four, then, on Fridays, I drive to Bingley, empty most of my bank account into the household account, and return home. I tidy the house a bit, then sneak off for a quick pint and a read of the Times, before returning home. Also, it's half term.

Hooligan pervert depraved penguins!

Today doesn't seem to have gotten going. I got up, went to the post office, and had lunch at Don't Tell Titus (again) and then came home and mopped the ground floor. It took us 90 minutes to purchase two printer cartridges and a pair of garden shears. on returning, I topiarized the front hedges ( :hat: )and managed to work out that the reason MrsA's stuff wasn't printing even though she'd "hit the fucking button fifteen times" was that she was citirx'd into a server and had selected a printer about 4 miles away. This computer stuff is easy. I think I'll have a pint now.

We've had some scattered showers, although it is looking gray and dark here now. I'm meant to go biking with my friend and his cousin tomorrow, but if the weather is shit then I think him and I'll just drink beers in Saltaire whilst his cousin doesn't. If it does rain, that means I won't have to lend my bike to someone, and that means I won't have to switch the pedals over. Saw most of the second half of the football today, it was quite entertaining watching Holland not score.

MrsA's car picks her up at 9am tomorrow, then I'm fending for myself until Thursday evening. Not terribly happy over this.

When planning his first cancelled BBC comedy show, he was going to do a set for kids. Trufax.

Back from a ride on Ilkley Moor. I'm really beginning to feel it already in my legs. Kern, you know the route to the Twelve Apostles we took? We rode that. And then over to the radio masts, down the Keighly Road and up that stupidly steep thing we walked down, by the Bath House. At the top of the Moor, we stopped to let some people past. They asked us if we were there for the poetry rocks. He should have realised that it's people like me that inspire people to write poetry on rocks. New bike is awesome, I love climbing uphill. Right, time for a beer or two.
