Normal rape is perfectly fine though, at least we all agree on that.

I think they've given up with the pension thing entirely and are now going to strike until Jeremy Clarkson gets fired.

What 'was' the train comment again? I caught it briefly on the radio yesterday and remember I thought it was far worse then any joke he made about shooting midwifes.

I've only read it out of context, but it goes along the lines of 'stopping a train if someone's jumped off a bridge won't make them better, so there's no point in stopping because it makes everyone late', or something.

Yeah, that's all I could think of, too. And cleaning up, I guess.
Another mark on the card for driverless trains, then.

I expect that the Police would want the train to stop too. The have to examine all the circumstances surrounding a death like that and if bits of potential evidence are scattered between London and Glasgow it probably wouldn't make things any easier.

Why do that when Jeremy Clarkson's in a rush to be rude to Mexicans? Or a Gay.

That'll be easier if the train's out of the way, though.

Clarkson really is a congenitally nasty turd of man. I'll still watch Top Gear though because I like cars and that. Browsing the iPlayer yesterday I noticed that BBC Alba have their own Top Gear thing, in Gaelic:

Who's that horrible person who writes for the Daily Mail that's he's Bezzie mates with? A.A. something. Had a gloat over Claire Balding being gay in one of his columns, as if that were her one defining characteristic.

AA Gill? Never read anything by him, but he's spectacularly missed the point on Claire Balding. The defining characteristic is her silly name. Oh, and the fact that she says rude things to people about their teeth.

I understand a lot of it, but speak very little. In the Western Isles folk still mostly speak it.

Plus that big frog looking first minister is spunking a fortune on teaching the Gaelic in schools.

That's my least favourite bit of Top Gear, I have to admit. The challenges and road trips are all I watch it for.

And I'm not that keen on Clarkson or Hammond.

Basically I should just watch Man Lab more.

Speaking Gaelic in Scotland is about as useful as speaking Welsh in Wales, but isn't the statistic that only 60,000 people can speak Gaelic Wullie? In Wales I think its about 18% , or about 350,000, speak Welsh.

Oh wait, it reckons 21% (611,000) in Wales for Welsh. But I think I should stress the qualifier of 'some Welsh' rather than fluent, of which it reckons there are 315k. Cheers Wikipedia.

Considering Welsh is taught manditorily in all schools in Wales up to GCSE level, this is hardly impressive.

They can all speak it as soon as they hear an English accent in the pub.

I only see it when scrolling through the channels on Sky. "Pobol y Cwm" is always on, which I presume is some kind of sex act.

It is now, but that's a new policy; it wasn't in force when I came through school in the '90s. It takes a long time for those changes to trickle through to the entire population. The numbers of Welsh speakers are rising (there were 74,000 more in the 2001 census than the 1991) as the population ages.

Christ, we only ever got S4C growing up (welsh version of Channel 4), and whenever they was something awesome in the TV guide, like a film or the start of a new series, you can fucking bet it would be substituted by some boring Welsh bullshit alternative on the local channel and the decent thing would either be shown at 2am, or not at all. Fuck you, Wales*.

Yeah thankfully I'd left before the manditory GCSE bollocks came in. As little as I do happen to speak French, I think that a far more useful language to learn. The propaganda at the time in school continuously trumped the benefits of having a 'billingual' child without pointing out that being able to speak a miniority language in a country that already speaks English is entirely pointless.

It was when I was at school, I was taught Welsh in specific Welsh lessons from Junior school until 4th year with a whole load of other non-"teaching" Welsh things thrown in as well.

Careful what you wish for, lad.

That's upsetting. I used to work in Headingley and Kirkstall Libraries in Leeds. From what I read there I'd be afraid to be out in the dark. :(

Aye, I walk past Woodhouse Moor on my way home from work. Six have been arrested, thankfully.

Tents by the tree looked sparser this evening. I've never felt unsafe in Leeds, but there's deffo some parts I'd consider twice about walking through, but I really only hang about the centre. My friend lives in Wortley, and my other mate used to live in Chapel, but he is about your build and didn't live deep in there. I wouldn't mind moving to Rawdon.
