I think it's a load of bollocks, actually. These are the same people who told us he's got ADHD and some other acronymed behavioural problems, too. Which he hasn't, he just gets very bored without a challenge; since they've split them all into sets at school and his teacher keeps giving him extra work (his teacher thinks he's the best thing ever), all his previous behaviour issues have gone. He's very clever and quick-witted, especially compared to his peers but genius is a bit strong a word for it.

Heh. I'll buy him a pint for saying that.

His choice of pint might disappoint you, MaliA...he's a lager drinking poof.

Mr Chris invented cold fission at aged 9, and solved the world's energy crisis by 10. Sadly, as a result of a hilarious mix up during an experiment in which he tried to sublime his consciousness into a ZX81, all he managed to do was copy seminal 1990's Number on "I Wanna Sex You Up" by Color Me Badd into his brainspace. His prior knowledge, all but extinguished, leaks out every now and again, albeit in confused and muddled fashion, scintillas of wisdom from his cerebral cortex flashing onto BeeX like a tardy Guy Fawkes firework, briefly lighting up our worlds, but, ultimately, pretty yet useless when not taken as a whole. Color Me Badd, on the other hand, went on to great success, achieving four further hit singles and two more albums, before parting ways. One can only assume that the answers that Kissyfur found lies somewhere with their melodic RnB beats, probably lost to the world, forever now.

I'm the neighbourhood watch coordinator for the area in which I live in and regularly get emails and newsletters from the police to hand out.

But honestly.. the amount of mistakes on them is embarrassing! A printed email with spelling mistakes throughout is bad enough but they also include URL's which take up 2 lines.

I've just received an email telling me about proposals to the change of opening times of local police stations. There's a new website that's gone live today (Monday - sic) but nowhere in the email do they actually tell me what the sites address is.

Hah, we used to get those at my old work. Barely literate, true, but 9 times out of 10 also either completely irrelevant or Snopes-certified bullshit.

I think when you haven't done something for 45 years, you can't really call it up as a skill. More like her fat is so immense it has naturally forced her muscles to disproportionately expand to accommodate all that fat.

Damn you Chris, now I'm inevitably scanning the list of shock headlines on this site looking for the most ridiculous cleavage-packed non-story of the lot.

Oh look, Courtney Stodden apparently has real boobs, but has evidence of facial botox. What the story failed to highlight is that she looks like a 40 year old man.

Apropos to that:

This afternoon, 4 people have come in and asked if I'm OK, proper concern in their voices. Purely because I have my shutters closed to keep the sun off my laptop screen...WTF

I think they have me confused with 'other women'. What were they going to do if they walked in and I was crying, or something!? I told the last guy I was having 'lady problems'...He nearly died, so I told him to stop being a twat and fuck off, it was because the sun was annoying me.

I uploaded three shitty videos I'd done with my phone at a Roger Waters concert earlier in the year and all three were instantly flagged as having the copyright owned by a third party - but none have been taken down, nor have I had to take any other action either. At the start of the show itself was an announcement over the PA that Waters was completely cool with people taking photos provided they turned the flash on their camera off, since the constant flashing might interfere with the (fucking amazing) light show, so I guess the guy was also cool with people filming it.

Nah this happens on my piano videos. Youtube is smart enough to identify music that sounds very similar to a copyrighted piece, and so makes a note of the third party content but doesn't necessarily restrict it. I take it as a compliment that the stuff I play can be recognised by a computer! :D

What usually happens is they'll run ads on videos where third party content is matched, you just don't get any of the revenue.

I appear to be struggling with the workings of Amazon's Black Friday deals.
Each deal has a limited quantity and a limited time period, if all the items are claimed, then there are a limited number of positions on a waitlist for people that don't purchase the item (if you are successful in adding one to your basket then you get 15 minutes to actually make the purchase).

Anyway, I'm not particularly after anything, but at 6.45 they had one of their mystery deals that sounded like it might be a tablet (turns out it was a laptop). Anyway, I clicked as soon as I could, and, as expected I was too late, but I've been given number 1 position on the waitlist, which gives me a "good" chance of getting the item. Here's the bit that has me confused, however many laptops were available, they were all added to baskets within the space of about 1 second at 6.45, so by 7.00 (give or take a few seconds), they were all either purchased, or should have been removed from the baskets, which means they've either all sold out (which they haven't), or they should have started offering them out to the waitlist (which they haven't).

I hoped this was one of those situations where when I typed it all out I'd realise what I was missing, but I'm still none the wiser, other than it evidently takes an arbitrary amount of time to make them available to people on the waitlist (and once it is made available to me, assuming they weren't all purchased half an hour ago, I only get a bit of time (not sure how much) to purchase it before it goes to the next person.

Good job I don't actually want it.

Edit - I just got a notification telling me that my time to claim had run out. No idea how long it had been there, but it could only have been a couple of minutes.

I've bought 3 things on this, got 2 of them fine, but was in the waiting list for the 3rd, I couldn't even work out where I was in the queue, but at some point I noticed I had 2 minutes to claim the item, and caught it.

I tried to get something today, but was in the queue again, and then missed the window to claim the item.

So, I don't know how that bit works either...

Just read a sociology paper on online gaming and negative behavioural traits of the players. It was somewhat whiny.

You have 15 mins or until 23:59 whichever is sooner from the end of the deal to check it out of your basket fact fans. :)
