Yeah, I love that in combination with the "All new tiles are coins" ability. And if you can combo it with one of the "collect all X" skills it's even better, because you get to double-dip. Activate "All new tiles are coins", then collect all X and they're replaced by coins which you can convert to swords, kill whatever you have to then those coins are replaced by EVEN MORE COINS ZOMG!!!11!!eleven!

I like to get ahead of the curve in terms of abilities, so my favourite skills are stuff like Enchant (especially if you can use Mana Potions to alleviate its massive cooldown), Collect All Potions As XP and to a lesser extent All New Tiles Are Coins.

Am I missing something, or does GameCentre have no way of mass-importing friends lists from your contacts / Twitter / anything? How fucking stupid is that?

Gamecenter is just stupid in general. It's improved since they initially implemented it and it sucked massive balls, but not by a huge amount.

http://uk.kotaku.com/5789554/evil-dead- ... p-for-that

Quote:
The 30-year-old Evil Dead series is coming to the iPhone and iPad as an "action-heavy 3D shooter" in the coming weeks, a chance to play with the boomstick-wielding, chainsaw-handed Ash on your iOS device and hopefully enjoy a not-terrible Evil Dead game.

The Evil Dead app is being made with the blessing of director Sam Raimi, writes The Hollywood Reporter, and will sell for $2.99 for the iPhone and $4.99 for the iPad. Expect lots of evil dead shooting over the course of 30 chapters and, presumably, many dropped catch phrases.

The game is being developed by Trigger Apps, makers of many a movie-based iPhone and Android game. They've churned out mobile ware for flicks like The Karate Kid, Green Hornet, G.I. Joe and... uh, Couples Retreat.

Let's hope they do right by Evil Dead.

Couple of freebies

Killing Zone - http://itunes.apple.com/app/killing-zone/id374147414?mt=8
Anyone sick of Zombies game? If YES don't download. If NO then this is a survival zombie game with usual on-screen joystick controls.

Up with a Fish! - http://itunes.apple.com/app/up-with-a-fish/id373719646?mt=8
This is a Dr Seuss Cat in the Hat game so one for the kids - big or small :). It's a stacking affair, in that you have to collect the falling objects.

I've had three scores of around 25k on Dungeon Raid in recent days. I have no idea how on earth someone got 600k. Is there some way to cheat?

So, I think I'm part of the way through my final ever game of Dungeon Raid.

Why final ever?

Well, I'm currently on 207664 points, and show no sign of dying any time soon. In fact, I'm not sure I could die even if I tried to, given how much blunting and spikes I have on my armour. I'll have to contrive a way to do so eventually, so I can post my score on Gamecenter.

Speaking of which, that puts me at position #6 on the all-time Gamecenter leaderboard. Unless the difficulty ramps up significantly, I see no reason why I can't take the #1 spot, though it may take me a couple of weeks!

My current stats are:
Base Damage - 1746
Armour - 545
Weapon Damage - 225
HP - 7395

...and my other stats are so jacked that any time anything dares to take 5 armour off me it gets back on v quickly indeed.

I asked around for some fun picture apps, and Patience Recommended Tiny Planets to me. It's a free app, and makes tiny little 'worlds' out of any landscape pictures, but also work in distorting other pictures. Like this picture of a wolf I took today:
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Image
Image

Do bare in mind that I used a very small resolution photo taken in low light to begin with - better starting points will give a much better result than those two pictures (which started out as the same picture, the first using the 'tiny planet' setting and the next the 'tin tube'.

Anyway, it's fun if you are bored, or stuck in bed. Or bored and stuck in bed.

Wasn't sure if I should post it here, or if this thread is only for srs bsnss about hardware upgrades and battery life, etc.

But hey, wolf pictures!

Actually, I do wonder if we should have an "iOS software" thread that covers all the platforms. Sometimes I don't know whether to write about a given app in here or the iPad thread.

Mimi—get yourself QuadCamera—absolutely wonderful multishot that works well with low-res cameras (like the old iPhone 3G and the iPod touch).

EDIT: My Driving in Iceland set, all from QuadCamera.

Halfling whatever the default class is.

Collect all potions as HP (which I never use)
Collect all potions as XP
Collect all coins
Turn all coins to skulls

The trick is to use the halfling perk that any time you match 15+ skulls you gain an armour point, and do it a lot. Between that, the killing lots of monsters and grabbing potions as XP, you can stay ahead of the curve indefinitely. I've not lost HP from enemy attacks in days...

I posted this in another forum when someone asked about how good Android was in comparison to iOS

"version 2.1.3.5.6.43.a.z is great on handsets made in april 2010 in the korean factory, but if you bought one from japan on HTC and have pwned Samsung S 2.55.6.2.888.z.x.zz.x onto it, then you need to make sure you get the GPS drivers from 2.4.3.55.55.5 and compile them into a crack and install via a friends HTC which runs 1.1.2.54.2.4.s. and has mutlitouch maps installed."

It was taken seriously by an Android user and I was told off for flashing my phone and expecting it to work properly! :D
