The easiest way I've found is to take a flatbed scanner and tape it to the telly.

I like to pause the game and draw on a scrap bit of paper with some crayons.

I tend to get through the green crayons quite quickly.

Or pause the game and take a quick sketch. Watercolours if you prefer.

Just use a camera. It should be simple enough.

Stand a couple of feet away from the TV, about far enough to frame the picture quite well. Don't get your shutter speed to fast or slow, then it's just a case of having your back precisely turned towards the TV and using a complex system of mirrors to get your shot. You may have to flip the results horizontally and/or vertically in Photoshop to get the right result.

Beware of infringing copyright. You could get caught in the Bungie.net.

In all seriousness, are there any decent capturing tools that will do better that composite yet? I wouldn't mind something like this which does component, but it's for the Mac, although I've seen the odd mention of a PC version.

Well, giiven Halo 3 has an inbuilt method of doing it, you wouldn't need to. But given the amount of spam from the past posing as questions about Halo, I doubt this is a real enquiry.

Indeed. I'm puzzled as to the purpose behind it though. Not even a sig link.

Oh, I know. It's just that every now and again, I'll rig up a TV card to take screenshots of something, spend far too long getting the settings right, before doing one game and then giving up.

Japanese stuff is particularly a problem. I tried to record Keyboardmania running on a Japanese PS2 and I resorted to putting my digital camera on a chair and pointing it at the telly. Predictably, it came out crap

The purpose of this spammer is clearly to alert me to the fact that Halo 3 has an inbuilt screenshot thingy!

I never knew that! 8)

We're all taking screenshots of Red Dead Redemption now.

Every game you play is recorded. But it will disappear soon after unless you go and save it. Shots can then be taken from it and put on the bungie website for you.

Wow.. it's kind of similar to taking screen shots with GOW2 on the Xbox.. except I think it's bugged. Whenever I try to take one, 9 times out of 10 it says my hard drive is full even though I've got 40 gig free.
