When ever I see that picture, I picture them wading out of the water on their legs, making grinding, screeching metal-on-metal noises.

One problem with that, British territory now extends 12NM (I think it's 12 anyway) from the shore.

I used to live quite close to Whitstable. It wasn't too bad a place when I was young, but it's not exactly full of life. There's some nice scenery, a few quaint old streets.

There's Whitstable castle (not a castle) that's open to the public, and also a boat down an alleyway somewhere that any local should be able to point you towards.

Those sea forts look pretty good but the humber ones are clearly better as they are older.

What's the purpose of a nautical mile? Is it more to do with how long you get reamed by the first mate?

It's not a normal mile - it's to do with latitude minutes.

When I open my chain of coffee shops I'm going to call them Lattetude.
