Richer Sounds have a couple for £99. What are your other speakers?

Poxy things. I want a poxy sub, really. £99 is too much money for one speaker out of 6, when the others probably have a total value of £30.

Use your old amp to make your sub 'active'.
And put new speakers on your shopping list.

Get your wallet out, then.
A chum has this one and it sounds pretty good, plus that's about £50 off.

Aye, you might be right. There's a few on there though, if you're willing to take a punt on ebay.

I order my new camera Jan 2nd. It is "in stock". Order is "processing".

Jan 5th, order is "awaiting stock". Camera is "out of stock". My card has been charged. I call them and ask them to explain. They cannot. I am promised a callback.
Jan 6th, I call them. They have no explanation. I cancel the order and order from Amazon (£60 more expensive).
Jan 6th, the Amazon order ships.
Jan 7th, I call them. Order has been cancelled, refund is being processed.
Jan 8th, I email them to check. No reply.
Jan 9th, I receive the camera from Pixmania.
Jan 11th, I receive the camera from Amazon, having spent nearly a week in City Link's network.

Plus if the refund processes you've got a 2nd camera for 60 quid there.

Granted, their courier (DHL) massively out performed Amazon's (Citylink). But I cancelled that order three times before it shipped.

Are you sending one of them back for a refund (7 day no quibble on web purchases)?

Or am I bringing down an extra roll of quids in my banana hammock to Madchester?

Panasonic Lumix GF1 with the 20mm prime f/1.7 "pancake" lens.

Image

It had a v1.something firmware update for the body, that had quite a long fix list (JPEG output quality and AF in movie mode were the standouts) and the lens firmware v1.1 had a similar fix to the movie mode AF. I suspect lens and camera had to have matched firmware for that fix to actually work, for whatever reason.

The shit will find a way back up the cables (you set at least 10% of your budget on cables, right? Right!?) and soak up all of your amps soul. Fact.

The speakers were from a home theatre setup, so the cables are integrated. I just stripped the ends off and wired them up.

I can say with complete honesty that 5.1 adds far, far more to a film than HD ever will. It's a quite lovely thing.

It's strange there doesn't seem to be any demand for surround music discs, nor are manufacturers trying to force it on everyone.

Is there even a file format for surround audio?
