I didn't know this was happening! Just got this months OXM and it has a feature on it, I'm sure most of you have heard about it already but for those who haven't a few key points.
This game takes place the generation after your hero and you play as the son or daughter or your hero. Albion is now ruled by a tyrant and you have to head up a revolution to take back the kingdom. To do this you complete various Fable style quests but you also have to win over the gen-pop, by making promises about what you will do when you rule. The second half of the game, you actually do rule and then have to concentrate on fulfilling the promises you made as well as possibly facing a threat from a foreign power! More info available in the magazine, sounds great though! Seems like 2010 is early for it?

Do you have major daddy issues because dad made your mum pregnant while his wife was in the room, then sacrificed your mum to evil and you never saw him again?

In Fable 2 I couldn't find a gay woman who would sleep with me without getting married first and I wanted to sleep with someone and Steve the Househusband seemed well up for it even though I was trying to flirt with a lady at the time. So I slept with him to see what it was like and then he kept asking to marry me and I felt bad so I did. But then I met Gemma the gypsy and wanted to marry her after having extra marital sex with a few cheap whores in the bandit town, so I started shouting at Steve and slapping him and calling him a chicken until he left me, but he took my baby away with him and I never saw it again! I was a changed woman with Gemma the Gypsy and treated her like a queen but we couldn't have children. :(

Wonder how they'll explain that eh?

Can we have that on the U2J site as a (p)review?

Will Peter Molywobbleaux be quoted as saying, "It's everything that we wanted Fable 2 to be... and MORE!",

"...oh, and one more thing... yer dog can shite too".

Yes, no doubt THIS will FINALLY be what Fable REALLY should have been, honestly.

While I can't help but be intrigued by the fact that it's set in Napoleonic - early industrial times, I can't help but wish he'd gone for the full-on Victorian era, a la Arcanum.

And yes, I'm sure the dog will have a massively expanded role. Not that it matters, if the dog does just have a shit it'll be doing twice as much as it did in Fable 2.

Molyneux has started tweeting again, I don't know what he's talking about but it sounds like he's said something off the record and it's being reported in the press. Don't know what it relates to or anything though. Made me do a wee search and see what's happening with Fable 3 and found this article. Sounds good! If all that is true then it sounds like a great sequel. The coop play in Fable 2 was terrible and I like the idea of being able to marry your coop partner. Would save me the stress I had with my partners in fable 2 ;)

Interesting stuff. As much as I loved Fable II, it did have a few downfalls and Molyneux seems to understand those criticisms – whether or not he can address them with his new ideas, I'll wait and see. I will never hype myself up about a Lionhead game, though.

Yeah, I know what you're both saying. I have dithered for ages about trying Fable II, but I doubt I'll get around to it now, so will just watch any developments with interest with regards to the third one.

Major Nelson has tweeted new information about Fable 3 bundles and pricing. It includes this:

Quote:
The Limited Collector’s Edition also offers unique collectibles that true “Fable” fans won’t want to miss, including downloadable content, also available for Windows users, as well as in-box items that come with the Xbox 360 version. Wrapped up in a distinctive box created in the likeness of a book from “Fable III,” the contents include:

· A new quest: Uncover the mystery of the haunted forests of Silverpines and earn the legendary sword, Wolfsbane, deadly against wolves and balverines.

· Exclusive location: Unlock a new region, ideal for settling down with a family and discovering new treasures.

· “Fable III” playing cards: Created by Lionhead, these cards depict every type of character in “Fable III,” including Heroes, royals, rebels and villains from across Albion and beyond.

· Guild Seal Coin: The coin features a Good side (blue) and Evil side (red) to assist players in making critical decisions that will impact the fate of the world forever.

· A new dog breed: Renowned for its loyalty, the Boxer is a brave canine companion worthy of greatest Queens and Kings.

· One unique outfit: Unearth one male and female outfit from the mysterious, faraway land of Aurora, a new destination in your “Fable III” adventures.

So if you pay an extra £15RRP for the Collectors Edition you get a new quest, a new location, a new dog breed etc. That's so annoying! I don't want to pay extra :(

I wonder if there are any kind of statistics attached to machine failures regarding both this and Viva Pinata. It did amuse me that both games were published and produced by MS and both of them were brutal with their usage of the DVD drive. Hell, VP made me wince with the noises the 360 was making - it sounded like a food processor making peanut butter.

I was noticing that, too. I also really enjoyed how the multiplayer couldn't decide whether or not to let us interact. Couldn't see you at all in Bowerstone Market, and things got iffy once or twice in Oakfield.

They released the Villager Maker online today and if you pre-order the game you get a redemption code so that any villagers you made can be uploaded into your game.

I'm filling Bowerstone Market with fancy loose women as we speak.

Aren't they churning this out a bit quickly?

Is it based on the same engine?

Almost positive it's the same engine.

It will be two years almost to the day between Fable II and Fable III. So yeah, kind of fast. Or maybe it just seems like it given the four year gap between Fable and Fable II? Between Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 being separated by only a year, Starcraft 2 taking over a decade, and the mythical Kingdom Hearts III that I'm still waiting on, I feel video game time nonsensically dilates and constricts at random.

Zio will probably be best for this. You might have to buy him a 360 though.
