Yes, I’ve got another blueberry, and that original one is definitely self-fertile and gave a wonderful crop of berries last year. This one is is supposed to be self-fertile as well, but maybe having two will increase the yield further.

I think we've bought it. It's on order, anyway.

We just want a working oven.

We bought the last one when we moved into this house in 2000. We've been thinking about replacing it for a while, but one of the door hinges broke last week, so we had to get on with it. The housing was also well past its best, so that's also being replaced, but it's proving to be a tricky job. The housing carcase arrived today, but I can't install it until the gas fitter has made an adjustment to the gas pipe. We'd really have liked to go electric, but that would involve running a higher capacity cable from the distribution unit, and THAT might also have to be changed, and we don't want the upheaval or the expense right now.

Does the oven come with a nice selection of trays?

Dunno. Nothing was mentioned on the website about trays. It hasn't been delivered yet, in fact we don't have a delivery date. Mrs. W is planning to chase them up about that today.

The old housing was a nightmare to remove and I can't assemble the new one until the day it's being installed as it will have to be assembled in the kitchen as it's very heavy. It's going into a corner against a wall, so it's going to be a bugger to lift into position without the feet falling off.

The whole thing is pissing me off, big time.

Update: FFS! Expected oven delivery date is 25 May, although it "may be earlier." This wouldn't be so bad if we were able to reinstate the old one.

It’s funny. I went back to check it because after I’d written it I couldn’t work out what had given me the Twin Peaks feelings, and I must have just not taken in what I’d seen. I thought the red was the background colour. I’m going to double fish in my stupidity here and say that I didn’t realise tattoos could bleed. Yes, I said that.

Amazon Website wrote:
WIFI WIZARD TECHNOLOGY - This Hoover washing machine is WiFi enabled and therefore you can operate, control and monitor this machine remotely using the Hoover Wizard App from your mobile device. For added convenience, the app includes Amazon's Dash Replenishment Service to automatically order detergents and softener when levels are low.

I'm actually looking at a dryers that do that just because we're on an Octopus tariff so it's only 9p per KWh overnight, decent savings to be made by running it then.

I would totally do this if our tumble dryer didn't randomly decide to fail to start up properly, with the motor running but the drum not turning and generating an awful burning smell that makes me frightened it's going to burn the house down.

Yeah our dryer is on its last legs, already had it apart and so now the fan is held on to the motor spindle by epoxy, zips ties and prayers.

I can't run our rumble dryer at night as I'm worried about a malfunction, I don't think the machine is 'smart' enough to realise if there's a problem and would just push on instead of stopping.

I used to not really care, until the morning our dishwasher went a little bit on fire one morning as I was stood right next to the damn thing

Nope, it's a code on a card. I had a £25 Amazon voucher to go towards it so physical was the best way to do it... This however, won't end up on a shelf to be admired for years to come. Straight in the recycling.

No. We have a microwave, a hob and a slow cooker, so we have other options to keep us going.

The disruption, apart from the inconvenience of not having a cooker, is having all the contents of the old housing and adjacent shelving unit on the dining room table and on the dining room floor.

They have... And it would have cost £7 more to have a digital code rather than this Boxed version. Makes absolutely no sense to me.
