It doesn't sound particularly great from that single speaker but I wanted something low power in case the lights go out. Nothing must get in the way of The Archers.

A house.

I've paid off my mortgage today.

This is here because I couldn't find the Yay thread in my 2.4 seconds of looking.

Where does that fit in the spreadsheet?

Congrats, huge achievement (and just in nick of time too)

Once my fixed rate and the redemption penalty end I should be doing the same.

Apple have added £110 to the Air, but it’s still available at the old price at John Lewis so I got in quick.

And the damn thing is stone dead out of the box. Phoned John Lewis customer services and they insisted that it just needed to be charged for four hours before it would work. When I pointed out that this was not the case and that it had been on charge for quite a while he pretended that he couldn’t find my order number, then couldn’t hear me, then just hung up on me.

That’s annoying. Can you take it to a store to exchange it? Or phone up and hope you can speak to someone more helpful?

Yep, all sorted now. Called again this morning and they are shipping a replacement for tomorrow, and I can send the dead on back after.

Drone hivemind, 6 year old fop is after a drone for Xmas. Not looking for anything pro, because he is a small child, but any reccos for a drone that won't break after its first rough landing? He'd love it to have video capabilities too (the pervert).

Awesome!

I recently found Dark Place on All4 and started rewatching it.

Hadn't seen it since it aired back in 2004 (I remember my friends and I talking incessantly about it at the time). Work of that quality never dates.

I bought this long water fed brush + squeegee + scrubby thing to wash the back windows. We do actually have a window cleaner who cleans the front windows every fortnight, but Russell has taken to just getting him to do the front windows because the window cleaner is a talker. And he will talk for 45 minutes straight about his weird rash (actual conversation) or the latest conspiracy theories he’s got into, or what’s wrong with his guttering, his wife’s toenails, his favourite pies. He’s really nice, but it can be a bit much, so I’ve taken to hiding from him and Russell tries to escape as quickly as he can. Letting him into the house to go out the back would be terminal to the day, so now he just does the front.

He’s really nice, though. And he cleans them properly, with a ladder and soap, etc.

Oh, the new pole works really well, but the connector at hand level is leaky, so Russell got soaked. I’ll try and take a photo of it later to see if anyone could help me find a Hozelock brand replacement.

He was putting some soap on (needed because of the Saharan dust from the summer) at this point so only connected the hose when the water was running, as the hose does make it a bit heavier.

This is the connector that leaks. I was wondering if someone might advise on a Hozelock brand alternative (the little valve isn’t important as I can turn the gap on and off simply enough as Russell uses it)?

I saw this one but wasn’t sure if it was genuine
HOZELOCK - Remise -14,90% RACC,D ACCESSOIRES 3/4-2289A6002 https://amzn.eu/63oBOL9

This one is genuine, but it’s made for a kitchen tap so o don’t know how to work out if it would fit:

How long can the pole go, Meems? It looks really handy. There aren't many window cleaners in these parts so unless I do our windows myself they can look pretty bad.

It is telescopic to 3m. That, along with your natural reach means even I could reach the tops if the windows with no ladder.

We needed something as our back windows were coated in a load of the Saharan dust from this summer. We’ll have to do them again soon as Russell’s parents are staying here for Christmas and they’ll be in the back room.

We bought a new car.

I had to adjust the garage door opener and the 'stops' to make the door open just a little bit higher, the aerial wouldn't quite go under without getting caught and twanging.

The car has tyre pressure monitoring.

3 tyres are reading exactly the same but one is a just 1psi out, and that's bugging me.

Heh, maybe... Its certainly not a small car, but the pics of it in the garage make it look a bigger than it seems out on the road. It's nice to be in a car with some modern tech.
