We signed up to Chase bank UK about three months ago and they do a referral scheme where we can both get £20. £20 for you if you pay in £20, and £20 for me.

They do 1.5% interest (paid monthly), and if you use their card you can turn on round ups which round the value you spend off into a second account and pay interest on THAT account at 5%.

You sign up and manage it all through their app but if that sounds decent then my referral link is below:

https://link.go.chase/emNK/refer?code=ACXK8ary

I completely forgot. You also get 1% cashback on all your purchases.

I'd be clicking the "phishing report" button if this was a work email :)

You can of course sign up without the referral link, you just don't get the twenty quid. But you would still get the good interest rate, and I can't find any other bank offering instant access with the same rate.

I've moved my ISA from Nationwide across to it.

I am also banking with them (and several others, admittedly, but Chase for all spending now). Also also also, you can add the 'card' to your phone as soon as its approved, so you don't even have to wait for the plastic before you can start getting 1% back.

I tried following your referral link mrrussell as it sounds like a good deal to me, but couldn't see how your referral would work given I have to download the app and sign up via that.

Try signing up by the app and using the referral code G6R7SjpT instead during the sign up process. That should work.

I wonder if once the app is installed you follow the link and it tracks it somehow. Or as Mimi says you get the option to enter in a code as you sign up. In which case you can use the one she's snuck up there as it's hers :)

Do they have the ability to transfer direct debits and standing orders from your current provider?

https://www.chase.co.uk/gb/en/support/s ... -to-chase/

It says yes to transferring payment arrangements etc but it's a manual request.

I'm surprised they're outside the hassle-free switching within a week, but didn't need to so I guess that's why I didn't notice.

If you are up for a switch, check the rewards available here - https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banki ... ts/#switch (£170, HSBC) - I've done it a couple of times (once I never even used the account - thanks First Direct) with no trouble. Though I have done it with accounts without terribly critical coming out of any of them, so could afford not to worry about it.

Chase is maybe better as a spending account, and/or as a travelling one (no charges to spend overseas).

I received my Chase card today. I had already added £20 to the account, so @mr Russell you should get your referral bonus soon hopefully.

Unfortunately, I'm unsure how much we're actually going to be able to use it. I've realised it doesn't permit joint bank accounts (yet). I can't really work out how we'd make the household finances work with separate accounts (we've been using a joint account for more than a decade).

Any tips/use cases welcome!

Would there be anything to stop one of you using phone and the other card to pay? I mean, legally, probably, but no one'll check up given you won't be complaining. Could result in suspicious spending locations, I suppose.

I am also with chase. Decent rate of interest on the savings too.

Nothing's popped in my end, but I'm glad it worked for you!
