Prime fucks around with Season groupings sometimes. I was looking at getting Steven Universe, but they've split a 40 odd episode season into groups of 10-12. Presumably to make more money

Well, Chernobyl was bloody brilliant. A perfect mini-series, had me gripped from start to finish.

Agree 100%. It's great telly and has some really good messages for the kids to take in.

Wikipedia counts the 4 movies (Bender's Big Score, The Beast with a Billion Backs, Bender's Game and Into the Wild Green Yonder) as 4 episodes each encompassing Season 5. Probably why that season isn't on Prime. Amazon considers these 4 movies to be Season 6. So the numbers add up. Only the 4 movies are not on Prime. They've still fucked around with the numbering though

I've just finished the American Office (again) on Amazon and was wondering what to watch next... Looks like Futurama has saved the day!

You can't, actually, because the DVDs and the broadcast ordering disagree and one isn't any more canonical than the other.

"Remember that, when Futurama first aired, Fox just basically batted the show around for a couple years, randomly, without any rhyme or reason, and then cancelled the series." doesn't exactly sound like a ringing endorsement.

Eh, I think that refers to scheduling -- IIRC, Fox changed timeslots a number of times, which probably contributed to Futurama failing to build an audience. Moving the episode ordering and season-splitting around did the show no harm, though, unlike Firefly or Almost Human.

Note that later streaming releases have stuck to the original broadcast order, which also suggests no-one finds it bad or anything.

Oh God, Almost Human was biblically fucked up.

One ep they hated each other. Next ep they lived together! Next ep they didn't live together, long term injuries hadn't happened yet and they hated each other again!

Lyla Fuckin' Garrity, tho.

Overall, tremendous fun.

I too finished this last night, gobbled it down at two episodes per evening until done.

A welcome antidote to the bloated and ponderous Netflix series (Luke Cage, I'm looking at you), or stuff that completely forgot what made it great in the first place (Jessica Jones, I'm looking at you).

Loved it from start to finish, a wonderful antidote to the crappy world of PG-13 China-Friendly Hollywood superhero films that bore me fucking senseless.

Karl Urban's accent(s) was/were a constant source of fascination, though.

End of iZombie was a bit "huh". Overall, any scene with Blaine or Donny in was worth watching, and Liv on primary school teacher brains was ace.

3/5, first two series were 5/5.

I've got back into Jack Ryan over the past couple of days and I'm really enjoying it. It's not the kind of thing I'd normally watch, but I like it.

There's nothing excellent about it, but it's all very well put together. Everything works, and it's all enjoyable. If it was a car, Hearthly might spend £20k on it.

They did a TV show about Batman's butler. It is set in England, the baddies are The Tories, they had a nod to Alan Turing, showed Jimmy Savile being executed, have Paloma Faith as a comic book villain and I've not seen anyone talking about it.

Your man Alfie is doing a pretty passable impression of a young Michael Caine.

Yeah it's worth watching I think.

I'm an episode in to The Terror, which seems rather well put together - it's about an attempt make the north west passage in the 1800s at some point. I think it's based on a Dan Simmons novel which I haven't read - I loved his Hyperion/Endymion books though so I have high hopes for this. It's already brilliantly creepy and desolate.

Last summer I was at a pub called The Good Mixer in Camden at roughly 3am, making new friends in the smoking area because all my friends from earlier in the evening had gone home. One of my new friends said he was an actor, and I asked him if he'd been in anything I might have seen. He said "Maybe The Terror?" but I confessed I'd not heard of it.
Anyway, he gave me the premise so I "ordered" it and then watched it a few weeks later.

I really liked it, and if you think it's desolate now OMMFG keep watching. The guy I met plays Hickey.

Series 2 has just started - I've not watched it yet but it's about something different - S01 is a self-contained story.

Just finished the third season of The Handmaid’s Tale. I don’t think the tiring has been as good after the first series (rather, there just seem to many things that don’t make practical sense, rather than script weakness), but it’s still been a series that affects me when watching it perhaps more than anything else I’ve seen.

He (commander Joseph... Lawrence?) is my favourite-written character. I don’t mean I like him most, but the complexities of character and acting and motivation are never better than when he’s on screen. It’s a marvellous role.

Preacher season 4 has got particularly odd - it's still great and all, but seems borderline psychedelic now in terms of the plotting.

Really enjoyed The Boys on Amazon Prime.

Great new take on all the super hero stuff.
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
But The Butcher's "English" accent is jarring, I take it he's an Aussie actor?

I felt all "The Boys" were a touch under-developed.

MM - nothing to him.
Butcher - very angry with an annoying accent
The Female - well, there's not much they could do there
Frenchie - him I liked. Nutty in a good way.
Hughie - pretty much the only character with any kind of arc.

Whereas the superheroes were almost all great, with much more depth to them. Homelander was note-perfect.
