LEAVE IT ALONE, YOU IDIOTS!

Quote:
Another classic science fiction franchise is getting the "reboot" treatment, but its biggest star could be even harder to recast than William Shatner's Captain Kirk. A new Bill And Ted movie finally got the green light — probably from the same people at MGM who thought that War Games sequel was a good idea — and it could show up in the next couple of years. The biggest question: where are they going to find an actor who can bring the Keanu?

Obviously they can just re-cast Winters, as he doesn't age.

I want to cry.

TRIVIA: Bogus Journey was the first film I saw twice at the cinema.

They shouldn't call it Bill & Ted. It should by Dickbreath and Twatfeatures instead.

Did I mention that a few weeks ago I dreamed that they were making a second sequel with the two actors at the age they are now. It looked awesome. It was being advertised with them sitting on a couch saying things in the way they do. A remake will be a bad idea. I'm certain of it.

Next up on the remake list are Wayne's World, The Day After Tomorrow, Cloverfield, and Rambo 9.

Making remakes doesn't entirely bother me, but this film was released in 1989. Do they really need to make a new version of a film that's 1) hardly a classic, and; 2) hardly old?

Next up: Clerks remade, starring Tom Cruise and Shia LaBeouf, directed by Michael Bay, with special guest star Kevin Smith weeping in a corner, quietly muttering "no... no... please, no".

I felt the same; it feels like the damn film's only just come out. I sigh.

Ugh, I bet in the remake they'll have slanty fringes.

No, it'll be My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy and Bring Me The fucking Hairspray and that.

I actually quite like the idea of a proper Bill and Ted 3, where they've fucked up monumentally and have to try and get back on track.

Obviously I was just bringing up as an example of a remake the is leagues ahead of it's source material.

Like how I shout (shout) 'Bogus Journey' when ever someone says 'sequels are never better than the first'

Speaking of remakes, some film company is remaking Short Circuit. (Didn't like the film when I saw it many years ago as a child, but my mother sure did like the tie-in computer game.)

Yikes, although I do have both films in my dvd collection. They were however bought for me, rather than by me. I don't think I'd have bothered personally.

You're right, you know.

I can't believe I missed this thread.

Re Starbuck: She's the hotness, you crazy people. I'm starting to think that Craster is secretly gay because of this schwing-blindness.

Re Bill and Ted:

A remake is a horrible, horrible, horrible idea, and is a morally worse thing and would make a less edifying spectacle than digging up my gran's corpse and having a threesome with her and Michael Barrymore in a school playground.

Davvyd Grimmmmm wrote:

I like this idea too. And, as Grim... says, Alex winters could just be recast. He's been in far too little since Bogus Journey, actually, as he's an incredibly watchable guy and was by far the better of thw two of characters.

I'm sure Keanu Reeves could grow his hair and be recast too, but I'm not sure I'd want him to. How's about he gets kicked out of Wyld Stallyns and replaced by Van Halen?

Unfortunately, the only way I could see that happening is if the film kills off the elderly Bill and Ted and they have to pass the torch on to the Atomic Gorillas, or something. And it would end up starring Ashton Kutcher and The Rock, and the'd have to go to Prague in a van to rescue a diamond-encrusted novelty comb from some communists, and we'd all weep openly.

Erm. Any beach in California, surely?

Bill and Ted and Parenthood are the only films where Keanu Reeves has been at all impressive. He was born to be a slightly dim surf bum on film.

Also, that woman appears to be almost entirely unremarkable. Except that she has a slightly scary, unnatural grin.
