I have ("gone to a store and legitimately purchased" - Ed) it! I've not watched it yet, though.

JUST PLAY THE FUCKING TUNE. I mostly don't care what you do with the rest of the film, as long as at some point you do your fucking job, and play the fucking tune. At which point I can go "fuck yeah!" and the film is immediately brilliant.

Rogue One is apparently in a bit of bother: http://screenrant.com/star-wars-rogue-o ... mcquarrie/

40% reshoots six months before release? Good luck with that.

The article seems pretty positive about it.

I fear the article hasn't given it a massive amount of thought, then.

They are indeed, which is why I didn't mention it last week when the news was just "reshoots".

Reshoots of 40% of the movie, though?!

Watched "The Resurrection of Jake the Snake" over the weekend on Netflix...great documentary on how Diamond Dallas Page got Jake Roberts sober (well sober for long periods anyway). The most shocking part wasn't Jake the Snake though, it was the condition that Scott Hall had gotten himself into, he initially comes over as a completely broken man.

He really is, no one seems to have a bad word to say about him (and in wrestling that's pretty much unique).

It probably helped that he didn't start wrestling until he was 35 so probably had a more mature head on his shoulders.

My colleague's brother (who Cras and Curio met once at the wrestling) was at one of DDP's Yoga classes / courses.

X Men: Apocalypse was surprisingly good. One particular scene with Quicksilver was superb.

Trailers for Ghostbusters and The BFG looked good. The BFG himself looks sodding perfect; exactly as you'd imagine.

I watched two films last night. Very unusual for me.

The first film I watched was We Still Kill The Old Way. Brit gangster flick, not very good. It seems to focus on the "good old days" and glorify it a bit too much.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3157224/?ref_=nv_sr_1

The torture scene did make me laugh though (JC, laughing at inappropriate things since 1974..). Any way yeah, a bit poo overall but I did watch it all.

The second film of the night though was a home run. It was called John Wick and stars Keanu Reeves.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2911666/?ref_=nv_sr_1

Absolutely fantastic, probably the best film I have seen since The Crow. It really did have it all. I love it when you see a film that you've never heard of, say "WTF is that?" when you see it in the list then watch it and get such a nice surprise.

Oh yeah, both are on NowTV.

You stole John Wick's car and killed his fucking dog. John Wick isn't the Boogeyman, he's the guy you hire to kill the fucking boogeyman.

I watched the sequel to 300 on Saturday night. Despite scoring on the Craster scale, it wasn't very good.

Not a patch on 300.

Jem and I watched The Nice Guys at the cinema on Saturday night. I'd call it the "spiritual prequel" to Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, it's a very similar set up but takes place in the 70s.

Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling are on good form, although Crowe has filled out a bit and just seems to talk in the way he always seems to since Gladiator, so not sure if that counts as acting ;)

Some great moments though, definitely worth a watch.

Yeah I watched Goodfellas and then Casino in one sitting a couple of weeks ago. Absolute classics, just a shame that staying in one position for that many hours hurt so much :D

I was hoping it to be on par with 2 Fast 2 Furious. It was really missing Paul Walker and Vinny D. I love the first one, the second has Devon Aoki in it being THE SEXAH. The third isn't as good and seems to have people pulking funny faces a lot. Still, I have the fourth one to watch tomorrow!

I don't really know which one was which, apart from the first one.

Was the sixth one the one with the tunnels, or the never-ending runway?

The sixth one had the chase scene with the massive safe being dragged across a city.

If I remember right. I marathoned them all in one go.

This one was something about driving through tunnels. It wasn't as bright and colorful as the first 2 but gained points for using a Rover 25 in the final chase scene.

Wait! I will use a spoiler. Fast and Furious
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
It takes place before Tokyo Drift! As Han is alive. And the Vinnie turns up at the end of Tokyo drift. So he must Not Be In Prison. Which means he must be Out of Prison. Or have a twin. Argh.

What sets Tokyo Drift apart from the others is that it's no fun and full of annoying characters...while the others are dumb, stupid and fun, fun, fun.

I did get a good laugh at the actor playing the main dude from Tokyo Drift being obviously older than his character is supposed to be by at least a couple of years.

And then when he shows up in one of the later movies a decade or so later, he is still supposed to be the same age in the movie's chronology.
