Yeah some of the 100 is just pure dumb. Found myself yelling at the screen.

Grimm starts out really strong and I remember initially being very impressed at the setup and it's subtle subverting of genre tropes; but it went downhill really quickly and turned into generic pish that I gave up on entirely some way into the second season. A shame as it had a lot of potential.

I liked Constantine. He was really good in the role, too.

Just watched the "leaked" pilot for the SUPERGIRL tv series.

If you're a dumb teenage girl you'll probably love it !

Constantine was decent, the lead actor was pretty good and I felt it was hamstrung by the generic writing. The times that they hit up the comics for storylines showed what it was capable of but it wasn't allowed to be that good often enough.

Ugh well that sucks. The best character is by far and away Monroe :) is he still in season 2?

I thought Constantine was OK. Would have liked to have seen more of Jeremy Davies, and they really underused Mark Margolis. It was basically scooby do except the bad guy was actually a demon, not just a disgruntled mine owner in a costume.

After been pretty pissed off with the last episode of Mad Men (in that it did nothing to close of the show)

I now find out for Season 7 they did one extra episode so I have that to watch tonight and hopefully it will a good final episode!

On Grimm thought that was good and I still download it, stopped watching due to lack of time around S2

Probably late to the party but I am really enjoying Person of Interest. Starts with the Bloke from Lost creating a super duper AI which predicts who in New York will get in trouble and then sends Jesus to fix all their problems.

Just over half way through series three and the "world" has really opened up with lots of interesting (for TV) ideas on the impact of AI and how people respond to the idea and the reality of it, plus gun play, lots and lots of gun play.

Recommended.

So, in the past few weeks I have watched Grimm(s1-3), Constantine(S1) and most of Arrow(S1). Arrow is far and away the worst. I am happy t watch a fair bit of pap, but the plot holes in Arrow are almost unbearable. That said, I am still watching it - not sure what that says about me.

Looking at my episode calendar for the upcoming few months it's as bare as I've ever seen it. It's basically only Silicon Valley and Game of Thrones (both of which finish in a couple of weeks) then the second season of Halt and Catch Fire (which I haven't yet watched the first season of). Instead of going looking for new stuff I'm thinking I'll actually spend some time going through my backlog so basically

  • Black Mirror (never watched a single episode)
  • 30 Rock
  • Bullet in the Face
  • The Dirk Gently mini-series from a few years back
  • Friday Night Lights, which I've hard nothing but good things about
  • The first season of Halt and Catch Fire
  • In the Flesh (odd looking BBC drama about 'cured' zombies trying to reconnect with their lives)
  • The Affair
  • The Last Man on Earth
  • Utopia

Fuck, that's a much bigger list than I thought, especially if I do get into 30 Rock and Friday Night Lights as that's over 200 episodes right there. So, yeah, if people could just stop making any kind of decent TV programmes for the next year that would be great.

Black Mirror is good.
Utopia is not good. Swap in Orphan Black if you've not seen that and want a sci-fi fix.

Ex-Mrs B watched some of Orphan Black so I was sort of following along with it for a while. It was alright but it never really gripped me.

OBJECTION! I thought it was brill. Tonally patchy in parts where it couldn't decide if it wanted to push comedy over super-serious conspiracy thriller or not. But it was the most visually arresting thing I can remember seeing on tv for a long time, and Neil Maskell is even more brilliant than usual as the ambling, virtually mute hitman. Series 2 lost its way a little but I thought it was still brilliant tv.

Orphan Black on the other hand I couldn't get into. They seemed to cast everyone based on their punchability. Amusing seeing Vaasshisface from Far Cry 3 though.

Agreed Utopia was excellent (especially the 'retro' episode to start series 2).

Orphan Black I've not seen but have heard good things so I will give it a try. Has anyone tried "Lizzy Borden"? Sounds slightly mad.

The 100 is great (starts a bit slowish, but really gets going)
I liked Fargo.
Gotham is a bit hit and miss occasionally, but gets quite good
I like iZombie, mainly because Zombie Girl is adorable.
True Detective. Watch it now!

Oh, has anyone else been watching Happyish? Steve Coogan's new US series.

He's an aging bloke working in an ad agency, struggling to not get out of touch with the world around him, and balancing work and family life. Also has Bubbles from The Wire, and Josh from The West Wing.

It's OK. Not fantastic. TBH I don't really like the family stuff. I don't really believe he would actually have that family, and interact with them in the way he does. But it has some hilarious moments and dialogue, particularly between him and Josh from the west wing. First two episodes are a bit fumbling, but third and fourth are great, and you get to see Steve Coogan do a convincing Don Draper impression.

I'm going to stick with it, but it's not his best work.

I just finished the first season of Daredevil last night and yeah, it's very good. Though my suspension of disbelief struggles slightly with how good Kingpin is in a fight. There's no explanation given for how he's able to fight Daredevil (super powers; years of training) to a standstill given his reliance on just being really angry and a bit fat.

Yeah, but they don't just make bad decisions, they make really, really stupid decisions. If there's a choice to make, they'll charge headlong into the most blatantly idiotic one every single time.

Just watched the first episode of "Mr. Robot"

Shit name, but after typing "Mr. Robot tv review" into google and coming up with some pretty stellar reviews, I decided to give it a go.

I was quite impressed. It's basically about a computer hacker (with inept social skills) who wants to stick it to the big evil corporations and (going by the opening scene), wrong-doers in general.

That's a very basic description. There's more to it than that and I thought it was really well done.
Looking forward to future episodes.

I'm up to episode 5 of Sons of Anarchy Series 6. Lord knows what is going on, now, it's massively over complicated.

Just watched the first 3 episodes of "Wayward Pines". Wtf?

It's a bit like a mishmash of "The Prisoner" and "Life on Mars" starring Matt Dillon and directed by M Night Shalawayan.

Fox seem to be showing it a day or so after the U.S. and the first three episodes are on sky catchup.

I'm really excited by the return of Hannibal, it's unlike anything else on television. And feels like it shouldn't exist. Can't believe it isn't more popular.

At the very least its the most beautifully filmed thing on tv. It's like a surreal art piece.
