It's sounds as if there's no way of playing certain XBox 360 games with people on your friends list other than via the medium of the Obscure Night thread.
I'm worried. Do I need my Xbox fixed?
In the past, we've had a fair few games that we've just started on the spur of the moment. But it only tends to be the people we know are likely to play that we invite, and only the games we know people like playing. Every now and then something more obscure comes along that we play, but more commonly not. The point behind obscure night (as I saw it) was to get some of the less known games into circulation, and with greater numbers than we'd otherwise get (*cough*Sega Rally*cough*)
Mr. Dave speaks the truth.
I just got a little bit bored with the constant CoddyWoddyFoursies/Forza playing and decided to do something about it. Happily, it seems to have mostly caught on as I do like to go back and play old games from time to time. Especially as when I first owned them I didn't experience them with Bezzie Action, playing randoms is kinda crappy.
As far as I'm concerned, anyone on my friends list (which is anyone who's used Grim...'s automagic adder) is more than welcome to fire me an invite to anything they want at any time. That's kinda the point of me being on it. If I'm busy, I'll send a quick message back saying so but more often than not I'll happily play anything I own.
People do seem to believe that "The Bezzies" is some kind of cliquey group that you can only get in to by being part of "The Network" but it really truly isn't. After all, they'd been playing with each other a long time before I joined the boards, and I play with them at least once a week, usually more. Some of this comes from things like Forza only having an 8 person limit which naturally means the "regulars" are going to get first invites...not sure much can be done about that apart from getting enough people to run 2 rooms. It's unfortunate but it's how it is. I don't always manage to make it in time for Forza night either, but I don't expect people to leave the game for me if I turn up late...
I can understand shyness, for example Tsu Much played the other night and admitted on the forum he was too shy to talk. Pretty much everyone on this board has some kind of anxiety issues as we uncovered in another thread. It's not a major problem if you don't want to talk, but if you wear your headset anyway so you can hear things and get used to each persons voice and just chime in here and there. Call Myoptika a name, instant win. Sing one of Dimrill's little songs, if you're feeling brave. It really doesn't matter, but I at least will accept anyone in to my games who asks (and there's room left).
