It's OK, except that you should have supplied your own reusable fork. Or is that your own plastic one that you reuse?

Put it on the list for my next visit. Along with the rest of the fruit machines on the island.

For me it would be one of:
Blair Witch
The Exorcist
Event Horizon
The Shining
Cabin in the Woods

Oh wait, it's Alien. As you were.

Alien is horror, Aliens is action - both in scifi settings.

I'm not sure I can choose between BWP, ED2, Dawn of the Dead, The Shining or the first Saw film.

Event Horizon is a good shout too.

Yes indeed. Then we went to a pub that served alcopops that no longer exist. Subzero, alcopop fans. The pub was called "Baker Street" and was opposite "Moriarty's"

Was it an 18? It should have been

Event Horizon is still pretty strong even by today's 18 standards.

Unfortunately a lot of stuff was cut out by the studio prior to release (so it was never 'censored' per se), and the lost footage doesn't exist in any sort of meaningful format.

viewtopic.php?p=707521#p707521 << WARNING contains NSFW link of some of the footage removed from Event Horizon by the studio. It looks fucking AWESOME.

Pretty sure those flashbacks/visions of hell aren't in the released cut? There was a lot of jump-cut stuff in the released version but I don't remember those, it's 3-4 years since I watched it though.

Anything where future tech was a critical part of the story surely e.g. Minority Report, The Matrix, Blade Runner, Ghost in the Shell.

Nah, you could tell the same story with a Russian invasion

Event Horizon is very good but let down by the ending. Pandorum felt quite similar and is worth a look if you like Event Horizon.

Don't think it's the best horror movie ever though.

There doesn't appear to be any critical consensus on this. IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic and Empire all have different lists. There are commonalities between them all and a lot of the ones mentioned appear on all lists.

I freaked out at dark corners and had a traumatised night's sleep after watching Event Horizon for the first time.

There's a bit in the original Nosferatu when during the sea crossing the vampire materializes on top of his coffin which freaks me out every time I see it.

I watched Event Horizon when I was about 21, but remember absolutely nothing about it and certainly don't remember being scared by it. I can only assume that it was so horrific that I've blocked it out.

Yeah, I suppose. Though it feels like a bit of a cheat to just swap out science for magic.
