My son had his Orthotics fitted on Wednesday. In his case these are inserts in his shoes that help correct his gait and balance, he is hyper flexible so has developed bad habits in these areas that will cause long term damage if we don't start addressing it now.
That was a Nay on its own, then I find that BUPA were ok with paying for the analysis but won't pay for any inserts or appointments associated with them, so £50 for that plus £200 for the inserts. To think I used to moan about his shoes that were £50 a pair
Yay is we have finally found specialists who do something else other than say "he will grow out of it" this is the 4th guy we have seen in the last 18 months.
Also they are working well, I took him out yesterday and he didn't fall over once, this would usually happen once or twice when I take him to a large park as he runs everywhere and his balance is a bit off due to the way he walks\runs.
Such a good kid with them as well, asking questions on how they will fit in all his shoes and bought into the fact they will help him straight away, not bad for 3.5
