I has it!
I shall post initial impressions as and when they happen...
Firstly, installing it.
That was really easy, plug it in, set it as duplicate monitor, run the calibration utility and away you go. I'm using the B lenses as i'm slightly short sighted, and they work well.
Tuscany Demo:
Screen door is very noticable. People say you look past it and don't notice it, that's utter bullshit, you can't help but notice it. Nice demo, standing up it really feels like you are there, impressive.
Don't let go:
All you have to do is hold onto the keyboard while stuff happens around you, this is the best thing I have tried, the graphics are simple and that helps with the low resolution a lot. I'm very impressed with this.
Euro Truck Simulator 2:
Managed about 2 minutes of this before nausea kicked it. I'll give it another go at the weekend. First impressions are that it is pretty much unplayable at the rift resolution, you really can't see fuck all as to what is going on. I did crash into a barrier while I was looking right on a roundabout, and it made me jump, so the immersion factor is starting to get there.
I'm now downloading a huge amount of random demos and shit to try over the weekend, and i'll try and get Asseto Corsa up and running with it I expect.
Current thoughts are that i'm glad I've tried it, and I'll almost certainly get the proper version, but I suspect the dev kit will be back on ebay in a couple of weeks, as the resolution is shockingly bad and really takes you out of any real immersion.
