What do the council say?
They say "Have you tried talking to him?"
We say "Yes. And he was abusive. And he's got a rifle on the wall with a 12inch bayonet."
They say "Well you really should go around and talk to him."
We say "We tried that. He threatened us."
They say "We think you should talk to them again."
We say "But..."
They say "We went around and there was no answer."
We say "Yes, because they were both passed out in a drunken stupor. Did you hear the kids running around? They should have been at school."
They say "Then it is a Social Services matter. Here is the number..."
We've had the police go around. The other residents have informed Social Services (one day at school, the kids were held back because the mother who was picking them up was totally paralytic and barely able to walk.) The teachers have informed the council. He had two untaxed vehicles on his front garden. The DVLA were informed by
four different people. He was running the kids in an untaxed, uninsured vehicle - which he had bought off another parent at the school. She kept getting warning letters (he hadn't registered the transfer of ownership) despite ringing up and telling them she wasn't the owner and exactly where to find the car.

Talked to them all. Only one I can't talk to the the Department Of Actually Fucking Doing Something About It.
Edit: Oh and we should fill in one of their log forms. Our blog, with 80 entries on it in the past four months, isn't good enough.
