Co11age - Don't Get Got

In the main Co11age thread, I mentioned Don't Get Got, a metagame involving players having to complete six missions without being "got". I'm keen to have this running in the background as I think the Cottage environment is ideal for it.

My set has eight wallets, so I'm looking for seven others willing to take on these challenges. Looking at the game spreadsheet, someone else also has set so there's plenty of additional opportunities to take part. but these are just nice things to hold the tasks in.

So, if you want to play, please register interest here. I don't think I can make up the wallets of tasks beforehand without spoiling it for myself, and I don't fancy running back and forth fetching the game as people arrive, so I'm proposing dropping tasks into envelopes for everyone ahead of time without looking at them myself (Scout's Honour and all that) and handing those out.

The game, for each participant, will begin 30 minutes after getting their envelope. This gives players enough time to put the tasks into the wallet and have a think, whilst everyone else forgets that someone has just started.

Rather than have set game end, the finish will be when you decide to leave. I'm in no rush for return of the wallets, and this way it means I don't have to wake everyone up on Sunday morning just because I want to go home. When you decide to leave, take a photo of your successes and failures and afterwards post it here alongside a description of your experiences. The winner will be the person who completes the most tasks!

Remember, just like Icing, you are still playing the game even if you don't have a wallet. If you think someone is about to complete a task, you can ask "is this for the game?" and if so they must confess and fail the task. But just remember that it'll get tedious pretty quickly if everything everyone does gets that response, so try to keep to the spirit of the game and only challenge if you're at least 73% sure.

That said, everyone on BeeX is excellent enough to respect everyone's boundaries, especially with regard to their own Covid safety precautions, but if the thought of this game makes you uncomfortable, please let me know and I'll ensure you are outside of it. Nothing I've seen or heard about the game suggests the challenges are in anyway cruel or humiliating but let's not be dicks. Everyone with a wallet can mulligan a task ahead of time if they feel it is in anyway immoral, discomfiting, or fattening.

So... who wants to play?

Anyone else?
If there's space. but happy for others who are more keen to play than me to play instead..
Super sneaky Dave is in!

The player limit is only because it comes with a set of wallets that allow you to see your tasks and then flip each one to "Failed it!" or "Nailed it" as required. No reason why we can't create alternative solutions if we go over, but as someone else has said they're bringing it that expands the number of wallets.

Grim.. And that Gif shouldn't go together, but they do... So, so well.

Anyway, if you need me. I'm in.

I am a fan of tits that can clap.
I'd deffo play if there was space! I was going to post on Saturday, but i can't remember my log in on my new phone!
You definitely can! The wallet is just a nice accessory, and there's plenty of cards so if we don't get the second set we can find a way.
if there is space.. then yes please.
Great stuff!

I've put up a player list in the first post. Anyone else?

I've found three old railway ticket wallets that should be able to hold the cards so will be bringing them.

Remember: even if you're not on the list, you're still playing* and can challenge anyone with "is this for the game?" if someone's behaviour is suspect.

* Unless you really don't want any part of it
If I start running around screaming while naked. It's not part of the game. It's just normal.

Genuinely surprised this is yet to happen at a cottage (that I've attended) tbh.
Are we doing "The Ritual" this year?
Of course. We need to welcome the new ones.
Yup deffinately In

I have another set I got from the recent kickstarter. Not played yet, but thought it would be a perfect game for this weekend!
Great stuff! Folks can join at any time!
Thanks to everyone who took part in this, either as wallet-holding players or innocent bystanders.

I'll write something longer about my tasks and accomplishments later in the week but I felt that experiment game worked well. Everyone, including myself, forget about it until something happened and someone gleefully pulled a card out. Those moments really made it all work for me, and showed that Cottage is the right kind of environment for it.

I'm eager to hear about your successes, near-misses, and failures, and how you found the experience.
I mainly forgot about it.

Although quite how i was meant to get someone to remove a clothing label, given that all my clothes have the label in an easily accessible place for me to remove, I'm not sure.

"Hello fellow human. please remove this label that I could easily remove myself, but haven't. For some reason despite owning these clothes for years and never having a problem with it, this is now a vitally important thing that you must now do for me"
I really enjoyed it
One of mine was to get someone to speak in a foreign accent. Most of Friday afternoon, Grim... was voicing his car with a German accent, but could I think of a way to get him to do it? I eventually got Bobby to do it so that was ok.

Another, that I failed, was to pretend I'd got an electric shock off something and convince someone to touch the same thing. The dishwasher saga on Saturday morning was an ideal opportunity that I didn't take.

You could have asked me and I'd have done it without questioning why. :D I get Gaz to remove clothes labels all the time. That, and I kept forgetting I was playing. :DD
While I think about it, I still have mine in my pocket Kern. DM me your address and I'll post them back to you.

As for doing them, I got Grim... to complete the punchline of a joke I was telling. He also played a song on his phone at my (and many others) request and I got Kern to say 'Cheese' while I pretended to take his photo.

I failed at getting someone to say something in sign language and getting someone to do an impression of a deer because I was insistent that they don't make a noise. Tough one.

I also believe Grim... failed in taking someone for a ride in a hot air balloon? Or something like that anyway.
I had to get someone to tie a knot in a balloon. Failed that one. I also had to kiss someone, which doesn't really work when we're all RIDDLED WITH DISEASE.

I got Kit wolf whistle, and I forget the other two I managed to turn green.
My two fails included getting someone to take a playing card off me with one of the task cards attached and getting someone to ask if I was crying (which just felt cruel).

I guess whated Jem
Got Kovacs to moonwalk.
Got Mali to read a sentence from a book
I can't remember the last one, but will have a think.

I really enjoyed this, it was perfect for the cottage. Would definitely play again. :)
I had to get someone to hit me.
That shouldn't have been difficult for you mate...

'Yeah, when i wore that mask of Mali a few years ack, I got punched hard within seconds.
Sounds like any future session would benefit from a neutral GM filtering out certain cards ahead of time.

Pandemic or no pandemic, I would feel uncomfortable with "get a kiss" or "get punched" no matter how light-hearted the activity.
I'm more than willing to help out there :)

This was brilliant to watch, by the way.

I got Jem to lift me up, because I know she loves lifting people up.

People on my team in the quiz 'corrected' my spelling during the spelling round, although frustratingly they actually 'corrected' it to be incorrect - not sure whether this counts, lol.

I also got Jem to take a sip of my drink, by drinking a new (to me) cherry Kopparberg and piquing her interest.

I had to get someone to correct me on the day of the week, so when I overheard Grim... talking about it being Sunday morning just after midnight on the Saturday I said "it's Saturday isn't it?" to which he dutifully replied that it was now Sunday.

Thinking about it, I thought I'd got someone to call me by a name that wasn't mine but I don't think it counts as someone just called me Bobby after mistaking me for him (from behind) - but I didn't instigate it.
Surely calling you GazChap counts?
I got 2

Had to get some one to disagree with a colour. I asked Mali is my green counter was purple... He corrected me :)

Had to get some one to correct my maths, Kern correct me, when I said we will get 3 pieces of pizza, he said more like 7

Did either of these raise an eyebrow?
No.. Correct Kov is a good game played by many.

This was also brilliant to watch, because at this point Jem looked a bit worse for wear, and you just offered her a drink from your can of cider like it was going to help her out, but actually you just wanted to complete one of your tasks. :D

I did ask if all of his were to get someone to correct him.
By my last count he had successfully completed 57 tasks.
