So the answer to this is actually more a yes and no question - you probably don't need another one depending on what your doing.
If you login to your sons Playstation and set it as your 'primary' device then anyone on that Playstation can use PSN and you can download your PSN titles to it
If you then login to your own Playstation then whenever you are logged in you can download your PSN titles and play stuff online
The only thing you would not be able to do would be to have someone else play on your Playstation without you being logged in as well.
Worth giving it a try first to see if it would work for you - if it does not and you need to buy another PSN I'd seriously look at a non-UK one there are often deals for the US version or some other regions for around 1/2 the cost if your just getting PSN so he can play online.
