YouTube Music
Does it actually work?

I started this post last night, but then it seemed to work so I thought I was going crazy. Now it doesn't seem to work, so maybe I am going crazy.

I've got a playlist in YouTube music with about 250 tracks. If I open that playlist and hit play or shuffle, it picks 100 of those tracks and plays them (obviously the first 100 if I hit play), and then stops. This seems a bit, shit.

Except it worked last night, I could go onto Up Next and scroll and scroll until I got to the Autoplay option.

Oh, casting breaks it, if I'm casting when I hit play/shuffle it only picks 100 tracks, if I hit play/shuffle first, then start casting, it works.
Actually, that's a lie, I have to hit play/shuffle, go into Up Next, scroll all the way to the bottom so that it generates the whole list, then start casting, if I start casting without scrolling, then when I hit the bottom of the first batch of Up Next (25 tracks) it doesn't add any more at all.

Gaywood!!!
Oh, I have a question about this! After some amount of nagging and reading some tech articles about it I decided to allow Google to switch me over from Play Music to YouTube Music. However after installing the YT Music app I don't get the prompt to migrate stuff over so don't seem to have a way to initiate it? I don't really care about playlists and history and whatnot as I don't use it very often, I mostly just want to move over the mp3s I've got stored in Play Music.

Of course, after I do that I then need to think what I'm going to do for backing up future stuff as Google don't seem to have any plans to replace the incredibly useful Music Manager app, but that's a question for another day.
I can't remember what prompted me (mentally, or on my phone) to make the transfer, but I'd hold off as long as you can (although I believe Google Play Music dies next month), as I've just been down a rabbithole of threads about the casting from YouTube Music being a complete shitshow for ages, so I can't imagine it's suddenly going to start working.

Yep, but I get a tangible benefit from that.

Seems drastic, but I might give it a go.

Thought this was the right answer, but no casting of tracks that aren't on their servers, so back to the drawing board.
