So I got blown up by this bastard Priest deck last night.
I don't really mind ridiculous combo decks, the worst offenders that often couldn't be countered have been removed/nerfed from the game, particularly in Standard, so as long as you recognise what it is you're up against, it's usually possible to adapt your play to give yourself a fighting chance, or just concede early doors if you know your deck doesn't have what it takes to win.
This thing however, I have never encountered before, so I worked my way through the game having no idea what my opponent's game plan was, I honestly thought it was some sort of joke deck being played by someone who wasn't even trying, and as his deck ran out of cards and I was sitting pretty with loads of health and cards and basically feeling like a boss, what you can see in this clip here happened.
In fact it all happened so quickly I honestly didn't even register what'd just killed me, I had to Google elements of what I could remember from the game to nail down the deck, and then it all fell into place. (And in fairness, at that point, replaying the game in my head, reckoned I could have probably pushed enough damage to kill him before he reached his win condition, but I got too focused on controlling the board.)
So yeah, I doff my cap to the ridiculousness of the deck, but I'm a bit cross I didn't manage to concede before he killed me..... (Exodia Mage, for example, you can tell early on in their turn when they've got the win condition, and thus concede the fuck out of there before they wank themselves all over your face with infinite Fireballs.)
Still, if I face it again, I'll get the concede in before they blow me up.
Mecha'Thun Priest!
