Batman: Arkham Knight and Darksiders 3. Meh, but I guess Batman at least is worth a go.
Arkham Knight looks utterly fucking incredible--it's probably one of the prettiest games of this generation even now--and has a really good story with an interesting take on the Batman and Joker relationship; it's probably worth playing for that aspect alone. As an Arkham game it's definitely not the best mind - the Batmobile stuff is generally annoying and the combat eventually escalates to a degree of complexity that's genuinely just fucking irritating. 90% of it though is just 'more of the same' Arkham stuff, which I genuinely mean as a massive compliment because the core of it's still incredible fun, so if you haven't played one of these for a while it's very recommended.
I loved the first Darksiders game, even though it was pretty derivative, but the second one just bored the tits off me within a couple of hours of playing it. I can't even remember for sure what annoyed me about it. I think it might've been the ridiculous surfeit of loot that had to be constantly examined to see which thing had higher numbers than the other thing, plus the general lack of focus in the level design. It just felt like they tried to throw another couple of genres onto the already teetering pile that the original game was balancing and it finally collapsed under the weight. So, needless to say I've no interest in the third game, although I imagine there is some fun to be had with it if you enjoyed the previous installment.
