Driveclub: a social/online racing game for PS4
A bit PGR-ish

I got. Have requested to join 2 beex clubs at the same time! Drahmah! Who can avoid my pleading gaze the longest? Who will be lumbered with me and who will lose out?!
I will download this and then complain that it's just a boring car game. Stay "tuned". AHAHAHAHAH. It's a car pun, init.
Downloading tonight.. Will you invite me for such a club
I feel I never gave this game a fair crack of the whip. I managed several races, and was fairly blown away by the way it looked and the sense of speed was good - but I fear I'm too much an arcade racer bod.

Can someone do a new Split Second? I'll buy it and everything.

And someone ensure this never happens:

Eurogamer story

"Criterion founder Alex Ward noted on Twitter that the Burnout studio was also offered the opportunity to work on the first Forza, Mad Max, a Vauxhall only racer, a Command & Conquer FPS and a Gone in 60 Seconds game."
I dunno, razzing a 1988 Belmont around the streets of Bedfordshire could be pretty fun.
Heh. I'd be interested if they included my first car, a rust-chewed Vauxhall Nova that stank of dog, even though we didn't have a dog. And my dad's racing-green Carlton CDX, a car capable of losing more than 10 mph when you turned the aircon on.
I had a Nova - a 1.4SRi which I loved.

Ooh, I have no idea what mine was. I had no concept of anything beyond 3-door and 5-door back then. (it was a 3 door, dog-Nova fans). Yours sounds like it might have been rather fast.
It was - especially for a young oik. It had a really good gearbox.

I had the obligatory dual 15" subs and 6x9" Alpines on the rear parcel shelf.

Worth a fucking fortune now, of course.
The first car I drove after passing my test was my dads two tone (brown and gold!) Opel Kadett D.

I remember it was tougher than fences and didn't like it when you forgot to replace the engine cap. :)
My first car was a Vauxhall Astra. I could barely see over the wheel (a problem I still have). I had a great big Eazy-E laminate covering the back window. Beautiful it was. The laminate, that is. The car was shit.
My first car was an Austin Maestro.

It snapped.
My first car was a Rover Mini. It also snapped.
My first car was a Volvo. Its steering wheel ran away.
My first car I owned was a Honda Concerto. I once locked the keys in its boot.
Mine was a white 205 XS with a big red XS down the side, Recarro seats etc.. I bought it solely to irritate my girlfriend of the time after she had said I should pay for everything. So I bought it for £275 and picked her up outside her work as she had told her friends I had a new car and was on my way. It was 2007 I think. We split up soon after.
Mine was a red ford Sierra estate 1.8 petrol whose tyres were worn enough to get a workable drift going across the central reservation at the A9s Dunkeld junction. It died when the police followed me through Perth one day then pulled me over and served me with a scrapping order because the smoke had left oily streaks up their windscreen. Loved that car, comfiest barge ever.
Oh and im in for any driveclub hijinks whenever I'm around the PS.
For anyone who still has this but not played it for a while it's well worth grabbing the update and firing it up again. There's a nice new PGR style track some new cars and a hardcore handling mode. Plus you've forgotten how bloody good it is anyway. Been having a blast on it the last few nights. Blasting some big Mercedes racing car thing through a Scottish road in the rain and lightning last night was properly amazing.

That's probably given me the prod I need to go back and revisit it. I quite enjoyed it and played it through to a certain point and then stopped. Not sure why.
