Sure. It also doesn't have summertime adjustment.
Don't play Outlast, it's fucking balls. And Max Payne 3 is a last gen game that's not out on the PS4.

Also, re God of War games: you've got the choice of a remastered version of the PS3 game God of War 3 and then the new game that's just called God of War. They're pretty different games as these things go and it's the brand new one that everyone went mad for. GoW3 is fun and all but it's very dumb and button mashy with no real character work to speak of.

Oh yes, god of war, haven't played any of those at all.

Is bezzie gaming still a thing?

9pm UTC on Wednesdays!

What time would that be for you?

Depending on the time of year it'd be 8, 7, or 6am on Thursday morning for me....
Oh, the Last Guardian, whoever mentioned that... that sounded like a good game too, will pop that on the list.

Thanks all for the suggestions etc

Honestly, just buy INSIDE immediately. It’ll take you no more than a few hours to get through and it’ll convince you that gaming is great again.

Can't believe I forgot Inside. Definitely one of my favourites. Sublime game.

I got inside & limbo as a bundle. Cor, inside is bleak, atmospheric... Very good so far
I love them both. I didn’t realise you’d never played Limbo or I’d have suggested you play that first.
Yep, I've not played much from the 'current' gen at all, and probably missed a fair bit of the tail end of the previous gen too.

I'm about half way through Inside...
Limbo was 360 wasn’t it? Not even tail end.

2005 so pretty much halfway through the X360's lifespan.

The 360 launched in December 2005
IIRC Limbo was one of the first games at the 1200 gamer-points price point and one of the first games in the first Summer of Xbox (or something like that) annual thing that the Xbox did.
I think that’s why I never bought it. I refused to buy XBLA games at 1200 points for a long time.

I mean, what was that, £8?
Unsurprising for me, I was wrong. Limbo was the third year of Summer of [Arcade] but it was 1200 gamer points. I’ve no idea if it was the first at that price point either...

Wasn't Braid the first game that cost 1200 points? That's off the top of my head so I could be wrong.

Um.... maybe... I remember seeing/hearing talk of Limbo but couldn't really remember when. I didn't do much 360 Live Arcade stuff and think that after around 2011 I played it incredibly little. Mass Effect 3 was the last thing I really remember spending any time on, and Halo Reach.

Genuinely though, my perception of time and stuff when it comes to gaming is well off - I feel like I've been quite 'out of the loop' so to speak, for a while now. Although that's also quite exciting in a way as it means there is a lot to catch up on and I can focus on big hits of really good stuff, and it all feels new to me. Plus, I can get the older stuff for cheaps now too. Double plus good :D
Darksiders 3 is a bit boring, it's like it really wants to be Devil May Cry but without any of the coolness or style. There do seem to be lots of button combinations to do different things, but only one attack button. Probably won't get much playtime.
Party max size increased to 16 now. Too late for our generation but hopefully the kids who still play online games together enjoy it.
Also, Remote Play opened up for all Android devices. Not sure how much use that'll see though, can't imagine the experience is great for most games.

Metal Gear Sold V (MGS but good. Think Snake eater but set in Afghanistan and more mission based structure)

This is available for cheaps and I'm tempted to download it.

BUT I haven't played a Metal Gear since Sons of Liberty on PS2 (the one with Raiden). Actually, I think that's the only MGS game I've played. Is the plot bollocks too far along for me to even begin to grasp, and is the game good enough to just dive right into and have fun?
Do it. I loathed the original Metal Gear Solid and didn't play anything between it and V. It's great! The story's absurd. It's still Hideous Pachinko huffing his own farts but he hadn't fully zipped up the sealable plastic tent he stands inside to do so. It has occasional teeth grindingness with boss enemies, and the first mission of crawling and staggering around is Bobbins Extreme. Enjoyed the rest a lot though.

cheers, am I best waiting till black friday?
If that's their standard price, maybe.
glad I waited got it for £35 in game, as i had £5 credit
Ooh, Vanquish and Bayonetta bundle on PSN for PS4. Needs to come down in price significantly given I own both and could just plug in the 360 (but can't be bothered). But never get round to finishing Vanquish so this may be a welcome opportunity.
So it turns out that wifi functionality on my PS4 Pro is fucked, which is a right pain in the arse. When you go into the network settings and try to set up a new connection it can't see any wireless networks and it pretty much just hangs when looking for them. This only started in the last couple of days and it worked perfectly prior to that. There's an option to reset the settings back to default (just the settings, not the entire console) which I tried last night and it made bugger all difference. My next step is to explore Safe Mode to see if there's anything useful in there and, failing that, I suppose I'll need to reset the entire fucking thing to factory settings to see if that helps. So, in the meantime, has anyone had any experience with this kind of issue or have any suggestions?
Obvious suggestion #1 - can you run an Ethernet cable to it? Homeplug-type devices have come a long way in recent years (although they're still not great they're much better than they were).
Or go hardcore like me and LAN the whole house. It only took a few hours as well. Just run the cabling round the outside of the house and bring it in to the various rooms. Obviously it’s easier if you already own an SDS hammer drill and the requisite very long bits like I do ;)

I totally can and that'll be the first thing I do if I can't fix the wifi (plus getting quotes to sort it), but I'm going to be selling this console to part-fund my PS5 upgrade later in the year so I really want it working for that reason more than anything.

All practical effects too, apart from one or two points where they spliced a couple of shots together because the studio wasn't big enough to lay everything out.

A quick question.

The boy wants a a PS4 for his games room. Well he wants a PS5, but that is not happening.

I have been looking in CEX and there is not a big difference between the PS4 and the PS4 pro. Is it worth the extra money for the pro? Means the boy can have my PS4 and I get the pro! :)
