I reckon you'd be better off in the long run by trying to look after your phone but if it does get lost or broken just buying another one then.

Hmmm £1000 for a new phone or £200 for insurance. The maths doesn't stack up :)

It does when you're a few phones in and haven't claimed.
Especially if you're on the annual "new phone must buy!" treadmill anyway. I have no idea if (or how close to that) you are, obviously :)
