Tabletop wargaming - nerdlinging to the max...
and other sundry models

Do you play tabletop wargames?
No, of course not. Tabletop wargamers are so nerdy they make PC fanboys look cool and studly.  34%  [ 25 ]
Yes. I love my little painted figures. I give them all names and stroke them every night. I live for weapons damage charts.  5%  [ 4 ]

Yeah I wondered how much it was originally. The seller has loads of other boxed GW games too at £70+ delivery. You want linky?
Nah. I don't play thum gums and the minis I can get elsewhere.
It's too late! DON'T READ YOUR PM!!!
Got my parcel from neighbour, after two days trying!

Cheers Dimrill, I could open up a bloody eBay shop with this lot! :D :luv:
And kudos for the packaging that smells of incense
No probs. Hasn't even made a dent on my base drawer :S

I burn at least three a day so all my possessions are steeped in it.

Jesus Christ

How come you’ve ended up with so many? :D
I don't like the vanilla bases. I use the lipped style ones such as: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/30mm-Round-S ... 1658843957 . For dread-size upwards I use https://fenrisgames.com/ who are lovely and awesome and give me sweeties in each order.
SPACE HULK 4TH EDITION IS HERE!!!

:luv: :nerd: :metul: Still bubble and shrink wrapped... said to myself I'm not opening until I've painted the last glut of purchases.
All my ordered Contrasts arrived today. Looking forward to seeing what I can do Alpha Legiony wise.
DONT OPEN THEM TONIGHT! They’ll evaporate, had to ditch some conduit painting earlier.

Look forward to your verdict on them though.
someone 3D printed an army and some people think this is just not cricket.
Can't blame them, GW's prices are becoming unsustainable. Just read that their older kits are increasing in price by 12.5% on average to bring them in line with their extortionate new kit prices. If Forgeworld follow suit.. man. A drug addiction would be cheaper.
Wait... The old kits that have had their set-up costs paid a long time ago and they're increasing prices? Fuck GW.
Yep. It was either last year or the one before that saw prices hiked by almost 20%, too. As for Forgeworld, look at the price of Sanguinus. Without the big lump of resin that's his proper base, he's £80! I paid £45 for Angron and Fulgrim when they came out and thought that was heavy. And they don't even do free shipping.

Lord of Change price has risen by $25.00 for Murricans. That's.. astounding.
Terrain building continues:

First up is a crashed Hornet, which, frankly, seemed to be the only sensible thing to do with this crappy Airfix kit. It will get a base and some piled up earth around it and various bits of broken plane scattered around - the intention is a plane that's come down after the pilot ejecting at the last minute and it becomes the "Capture the flag" objective:

I'm also working on a building site. Not the best angle to see the building, but it shows off the muddy water. Some of the ground will get grassed, obviously. I've scratch built a skip to go with it, which I need to photograph as well as I'm rather proud of it.

Excuse the washing
You should sack your bangmaid and get a younger one so you can pay her less.
Lovely job, but the skip needs a phone number on the side.

You are 100% right. I can't freehand that well though, so rather than cack it up I left it blank.
This is a sentence I never thought I would type, but I really like that model of an old rusty skip.

Stencil, like the real thing
Luvloi luvloi Fenris games are doing a kickstarter for fantasy rotters https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/th ... on-warband Plague Dorfs!

Now £84. Because 80 was just too damn cheap for a single model.
You could get a shrink wrapped 4th Ed Space Hulk for that and still have change if you were me last month!

Nicey.
The transfers have been hiked by 25% overnight. Now it's £20 for an A4 sheet. I am quite upset.

edit: 'kin ell, all the TWENTY ONE year old Eldar Phoenix Lord characters increased by 50%.
20 quid for a sheet of fooking transfers? That cost pennies to make?
I wish I'd bought them 3 years ago when they were £12. But even then my eyes were watering at the price.
Absolute fleecers.
This makes iRacing seem cheap.
No-one buys the transfers, and the few people that do constantly ring FW customer services (which is two rather harried-looking blokes) and yell at them because they're really expensive. They're probably trying to kill sales so they can pull the range with a good excuse, then start selling you chapter-marked tank doors for £28 instead.

TBH FW is exactly as much of a ramshackle operation as it seems, much of the time. I got a proper bollocking for calling their office 'the Forge World Shed' in a newsletter once, as it was a bit too close to the bone.

At least they're physical items that can be sold (often for more) down the line. But these price hikes are scandalous.
I actually bought a transfer sheet for my Warglaive a few weeks back.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
£2.99 inc delivery
S'a pity. I was really enjoying the "new" Gee Dubs with their focus on communication and kits that people were asking for. As the vaunted philosopher Paula Abdul once said, two steps forward two steps back.

How many have you sold? :D
I haven't purged for five or so years. I send my dupes/unwanted stuff to Zardoz.
You may laugh but I have actually sold stuff from time to time between waves of bulk purchasing.
It's an investment.
Yesterday afternoon, my mates and I watched as a bloke came into the games shop with a deliveroo sized box. He popped it on the table and opened it on the facing side. There were three magnetised shelves, holding his Warhammer 40k chaos space marine army. He faffed about a bit and then his mate turned up with a similar box.he opened it and pulled out a giant robot bristling with guns. It must have been ten inches high and beautifully painted. He then produced another three.

I can imagine the discussion:

"A giant gun robot is 500 army points, you have 1500 army points left. What else?"
"Three more"

It wasn't clear who won but i saw one removed from play a bit later on and another facing the wrong way
Sprayed another kill team board 95cm square in a Mars surface scheme this weekend. Still need to finish the ruins. Bogged down in plasma conduits at the moment.
You're telling you bought all that sand and didn't use it for proper sandy boards?! FOR SHAME!
The first board I made with sand is very abrasive. Don’t want to scratch my placky range finders!
I could just make a shallow 95cm square sand pit, I suppose.
Oh shit... that Warcry (Ye Olde Kille Teame) looks like a mighty fine hunk of plastic.
