Forecast looks good. Ignoring that shite for a reasonable bed time then getting up & going for an epic bike adventure seems the sensible way to spend it.

awesome plan.
It would be great if the full transcript of the interview read as follows.

Oprah: "So tell me Lance, are you a big cheaty cheater?"

Lance: "Er, well yes, I..."

Oprah: "Thanks for that! Do us all a favour and fuck off then, would you? Bye everyone!"
Mali, fancy some beer & heckling next year? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cycling/21056721

Hopefully this hill is featured when they pass through Hebden on day 2 ;)
Wrong video, I meant this one :DD

i am made up it is going tbrough otley. no excuses not to move there now!
So, Lance Armstrong, a lying coward. Hopefully we can just erase him from histry and move on.
And already we have our first complaint about the cost to Yorkshire hosting the start of the Tour, Yorkshire, really is wasted on the Yorkies.

Total cost £6.5 Million…sounds like a bit of a bargain to me.

A complaint? Those bastards!

My neebor reckons the UCI are wallopers, but the future looks bright. I wholeheartedly agree with the first bit, but remain sceptical about the second. http://wearefreeagents.net/2013/01/30/e ... r-purpose/
It will be different this time. They did not mean it. Just angry. Trying to do good now.
He should be allowed to go to any restaurant he likes.

Manzano dropped an early bombshell when he produced his UCI health card from 2003. This, he said, showed that he had a working relationship with Eufemiano Fuentes, who had previously testified he had no relationship with Manzano. The card bore Fuentes’s signature, indicating he was the rider’s doctor. Although the doctor’s lawyer attempted to have the card struck out as evidence, the judge overruled this protest and Fuentes confirmed the signature was indeed his.
visiting the giro next month.. on the pantani stage
The wonderfully charismatic, laugh a minute, Chris Froome is to lead SKY'sTour de France team, putting to rest speculation that Bradley "Wiggo" Wiggins will lead it after the Giro.

You should totally read "The Death of Marco Pantani". It is brilliant. Brilliant and very sad.

man that is sad, just finished it...

on a lighter note, see us run, next to the stage leader Visconti (me in pink to honor Pantani) in the snow on the glibber

Robert Millar has written an interesting blog about the situation at SKY.

Apparently when Chris Froome was considering putting his signature on a new contract to stay with the Brit team after last year's Tour he insisted on sole team leadership and no Wiggins at the 2013 TdF. It was that or hello BMC
Yesterday was 201km of having a bit of an amble and a chit chat, followed by 10km of craziness involving a bus trapped under the gantry on the finish line, moving finishing lines and a huge crash. Today is a day in the mountains of Corsica. Looks beautiful.
I had my question answered on eurosport! They did say that it was probably not my real name, mind.
One of the best stages i have seen in a while. Superb.
Superb time trials in what is perhaps my most favorite place on Earth yesterday. The teams bombed along a 25km course at an average of 36 miles an hour. That's faster than my peak speed when going downhill most days! A bit of a disappointment for Millar, who really wanted a win, so he could take the Yellow Jersey, but it wasn't to be. Cavendish and his team did superbly well, and Thomas did a magnificent 24km, only dropping off at the last. he still is sufffering from his fractured pelvis that he got on Saturday. Brilliant and beautiful, and I don't normally like time trials. Gerrans in the yellow, and we should all get on his team's bus now! A ha ha ha.
fucking fast wasn't it..

got lots of points in my predict-the=tour game today.. winner,,2,3,4 correct, bonus stage!
yeah!
I didn't see yesterday's stage, but, apaprently, Cavendish won by obliterating all others over 150m. Which is a good thing. A not good thing was tacks on teh raod causing punctures. including Thomas, who, it is said, winced visbily when given a push to get going again, what with his fractured pelvis and everything.
WHAT A WEEKEND! Saturday was a masterclass in "How to ride up hills bastard fast" and Sunday was totally different but nail bitingly brilliant. And Kennaugh climbing up the embankment was quite funny.

Indeed. However didn't see anything yesterday, due to the worst clash of sporting events that I can ever recall

Youtube Kennaugh getting knocked off and rolling into the bushes. I wasn't aware there was any other sport on over the weekend. Did I miss anything?
Porte, on yesterdays stage:

Quote:
It was a bit of war today, everybody saw that it was an amazing stage. Full credit to Valverde. He attacked so early and it takes a fair set of swingers to do that....I think the peloton kicked our arses and that's all there is to it,"

Certainly nothing historic.

I feel cheated today. No tour, no rugby, no tennis, no football, no F1, no anything!

Stupid rest days.
I know. Layabouts, the lot of them.
Flat day in one of my favorite bits of the world. A sea breeze threatened to mess things up for the peleton but it all turned out OK unless you are cavendish or Veelers who had a coming together landing Veelers on his bottom. Cavendih was clearly peeved with soe of the critiscm he was (wrongfully, I might add), taking to twitter to comment "Can all sprint experts on twitter go and try flicking their bike right at 65kph without leaning your body left to balance & come back to me". Earlier, he had said he'd hoped Veeler was OK, further leading me to beleive he's actually one of the most proper gents about, and no mistake, siree. Millar took a huge turn at the front and stamped the pace down in the final stretch, which was excellent and Froome is still in yellow, looking more like spongbob squarepants everyday. individual time trial today which is exciting if you like things like that, but i'd advise watching as it finishes in front of Mont Saint Michel which is lovely. And they get to race against the tide, too!

Looking ahead, Thrusday and Friday are flat and we hit massive hills over the weekend that even I would consider sticking a 27 on the back for.
Apparently, whilst Mr Cavendish was doing the time trial, he was jeered at and had piss thrown over him.
It's difficult to love Froome this year isn't it? Last year when he was Brads' wingman, he was a point of interest, but this year, just a bit meh.

He's dull as anything, to my mind. Hopefully he can do something awesome in the mountians, like zoom off alone out teh front all day, but I doubt it.
OmegaPharmaQuikStep seem to have decided that the best way to beat Kittel is to sy "uck off" so are currently at the front of the peleton which is smashing along at 62kph, according to the gruaid. To put that into perspective, I get to 62kph rarely and it is generally downhill into Ilkley, on a very steep hill.
Yeah, they've managed to make a stage interesting that looked pretty dull on paper.

The GC contenders are dropping Valverde too.
And now Contador (and Cav!!!) are dropping Froome!
Boom Boom Froome!

Never seen anything quite like it when Chris (froome) kicked off on a 10% gradient looking like Chris (hoye)
Friday the belkin opqs (longest team name ever?) combo wasso amazing.. We couldn't stop talking about it... Today froome wasjust etter.... But greathow mollema just kept peddalling his own pace and disn't lose much to contador.. Stil. On the podium.. Lovely tour.
If I were Contador, I'd be spending most of today crying and trying to work it all out. Froome was phenomoenal. As was the man who thought "I'm going to Ventoux to watch the cycling. I'll need a tent, food, booze and stuffed wild boar."
Good descending skills on show for the most part. Bit of a hint of a tantrum from Froome.
