Clawing a bit closer to a sub 25 minute 5km. Just did slightly under 5km in 24:43......
Good going fella
What's even more impressive is that he did it circling the dining table, chased by the cat.

I now have the Benny Hill Chase music stuck in my head.

You're 1 second off my best 5k now :metul:

(There's no way I'd be able to match it right now mind you)
Did my first 5k in god knows how long this morning. Very slow but I feel good and I’m going again tomorrow.
Good work Myp!

We've been doing the Joe Wicks every day, it's definitely making me feel better and I don't ache at all today. :)
Lots of dog walkers out, a couple of fellow runners and a few walkers. Quite quiet at 8:30am and the park is open so I’m happy I don’t have to do all my running on the roads.
I was pretty concerned about the impact of Corona lockdown on my fitness but last week I took two of the four workouts from my PT and created alternate versions using either body weight or the ~8KG of beer/juice/cat litter 'dumb-bells' that I've cobbled together. After my improvised leg workout on Wednesday I couldn't walk properly until Saturday (split squats are the fucking devil) so yeah, that seems to be going remarkably well. No doubt my already pretty shite cardio fitness will suffer even just from the fact that I'm doing so little walking around now by comparison, but I'm less bothered about that compared to my hard won muscle tone.

5km in 24:20

A beer, I think.

Why stop at one
Back on my fitness Pal as of yesterday, I thought I was 14.5 stone but my fire service medical showed up the error in my scales and it turns out I'm 16 stone after all.
Going for under 1980 Cal a day.
And some new scales.

That's a hell of a discrepancy!

For the fire station clinic
After a few weeks of working from home, I’m starting to feel quite stiff with more aches and pains than normal.
Don’t fancy three months of this or worse.
Do the Jo Wicks workout and ache in places you'd forgotten about!

Likewise. Too much cake (I bake when I'm stressed :DD ) not enough walking about, in my case.

Slowly finding my groove though, having undone all of the work I'd done to get down to my weight category for my powerlifting comp (which has been postponed til next year) :S
Tuesday my legs and back ached too much to run again and then it was my birthday and Sal was off for the rest of the week, so ended up a bit of a bust.

Went for a 30min run this morning and managed 4.17k so will aim to go again later in the week.
Beautiful here. I assumed the state of the tide when I went out for a run along the beach. 75% of it was great, but the thigh deep wade from one sandbank to another was an avoidable error. Might get a tide clock. And new shoes.
I tried to buy weights online the other day because using beers cans and cat litter is annoying as shit; I'm not sure why I thought that would be at all successful. On the upside I did order some resistance bands so that'll give me more options.
Resistance bands are great. Most of my working out (currently) is with one of those. Flexible, in more ways than one.
They should be great but it turns out I'm an idiot as I didn't check their size. I was expecting proper ones what like I use at the gym and instead all six of them are about a foot long. I mean I'm still able to use them for the odd thing but it's not quite what I was after.
What's "the odd thing"?
I just ate half an Easter egg.

Gaz did the shopping yesterday and came back with 9 easter eggs (on top of the 1 each we've already eaten) 8)

I'll be around shortly, if you could leave them just outside your front door, that would be great, thanks. :D

Yesterday it was behind the head tricep extensions.

Weirdly, I did exactly the same thing!

I've been doing one a day for the past couple of weeks, the small ones were down to 50p each least week!
Down to my last 3 though...

Thank goodness. I thought you meant 'stranglewank'.
I’ve been running twice a week for the last three weeks. My pace seems to be getting better. I ran 5.7k today at 7’18”. My first run was a 5k flat at 7’49”. It’s amazing how much longer and faster you can run if you take it what feels like way too easy at the start. I only meant to do 5k but felt like going longer.

I’m still eating too much which means I’ve gained 3lbs though, whoops.
Yeah, setting off way too quick guarantees an unpleasant and slow run, for me anyway.

Good work dude :)

Think my mojo is back - managed to do a full week of runs/workouts this week and everything felt good. Am not weighing myself at the sec because I have bigger priorities but my shape is changing again (losing some of my Christmas bulk, gaining some lower ab definition weirdly)
Well done everyone.

I had a wake call on Monday. I have put 5lbs on.

So back training and trying to eat less.
Ran 7.5k today which is the furthest I’ve ever run in my adult life without stopping. Also the first week of quarantine where I’ve been for three runs in a calendar week.

Felt pretty good!

Nice one!
Need to watch my weight, however. Eating way too much and I’ve put on 4lbs this last month.

Fantastic! Really well done. :)

Excellent stuff.
The day after my proper resistance bands arrived the 50kg dumbbell/barbell set also arrived, so at least now I don't need to be concerned with how many (filled) beer cans are in the house before I start working out.

Which set did you get btw? I was thinking about perhaps doing some weight training at home on my off days from running.
It was this which is now out of stock predictably:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08 ... UTF8&psc=1

It was certainly massively over-priced at £120, but you can't easily get them up to that high a weight and the fact that it converts between dumbbells and a barbell were also points in it's favour.

Certainly you wouldn't really need to go that high to start with. Unfortunately though pretty much everything's either out of stock or laughably over-priced at the moment even for lower weights. My recommendation though whenever things come back in is to go for stuff like this:

https://www.argos.co.uk/product/6047081
https://www.argos.co.uk/product/6202431

Adjustable for flexibility and not particularly expensive.

Annoyingly I had a set of the dumbbells there which I hadn't used for ages and gave away to a friend of mine a few months before the apocalypse began.
Out of my price range unfortunately, and I think I probably only need dumbbells anyway. Thanks though!

Shame the cheaper ones aren’t available near me.
I got some Marcy weights (with a bar and a couple of... dumbs?) years ago. Because they're just lumps of metal, they've lasted me ages, So happy with them. And they look satisfyingly old school.

You can do a lot with your own bodyweight. Would recommend doing some of the 'PE with Joe' stuff.
