Today's the day I will be forced to begin using Windows 10, as my work laptop is being replaced.
To me, this IS a first world problem.
just in time to get used to it before windows 11 comes out
I'm hoping I'll be retired before my employer rolls it out.
Laptop was supposed to be at my local parts depot today, but as it's not coming from our repair centre, but from London, I don't know what time it may arrive. It certainly wasn't there at 8am
Typically, we haven't been given much in the way of instructions for moving from the old to the new, other than "back up your data, preferably to iCloud," but we've had little instruction on using that, either. They're probably assuming all users can manage, which will very likely prove not to be the case.
I logged into iCloud late last night, and got a message that data from c:\users\<your username>\<company name> \ would be synchronised, but didn't say I'd need to create that folder and copy everything I wanted to transfer into it. Anyroadup, it appears to have copied everything up overnight, so I'm ready to roll.
