I really need to get my hands on a 32GB or 64GB memory card. I have 2x 16GB cards, but swapping between the two is a pain in the arse (it's physically a faff and the Vita needs to rebuild the database each time you do it, which also takes a minute or two). I've got too much stuff to fit on both those cards also, but I think I'd get by with a 32GB card by just being more ruthless. I do silly things like keep Metal Gear Solid 3 on one of the cards because I'm bound to play it one day (though have barely touched it so far) and keeping Gravity Rush on a card because it was such an awesome game, even though I haven't loaded that up since completing it.
FYI its about £60 for the 64 gig card from Japan

http://www.nippon-yasan.com/lang-en/?force=1

Seems to be where most people are getting them from

£40 for the 32 gig card if you can find stock (hard to do at the moment)

If you delete games, can you re-download them?

You think that's a faff? You should try having one card thats linked to a uk psn account and one to a japanese account.

Long winded and unneededly so. Makes ke want a second vita just to not have to put up with that carp.

Doh! Sorry; got interested in the start of the post and didn't notice the remainder!
Anyone played that Blaz Blue Continental Continum Shifty Shift Rewind Remix 987?

I've just killed someone with 2, 2 Round Perfect's by deliberately just randomly mashing the button like a knob, and a woman whose breasts can only be described as "sentinent" and a phalic staff that seemingly flys off and mashes up your opponent with very little input from you. I'm just glad I picked her first.

It looks utterly gorgeous but, geesh, what the hell is going on?
The Wheels of Fate are spinning!

Our two competitors face one another. A tall woman wears a jacket that is zipped up to just below her breasts. Her breasts have fallen out of her jacket and the zip is, presumably, jammed beneath them. Her breast slam together against an unseen tornado wind isolated to the area just around her chest.

Man in suit has white hair. He loves his white hair. He is stroking his white hair. White hair stroke. Hair stroke white. White stroke hair. Stroke hair white.

This face off is interrupted and the fight gets underway.

Woman throws her stick which spins out like a roulette and smacks the guy in the face. The stick keeps on going flying past the target. Woman punches the air: once, twice, thrice. The man is walking backwards. Woman jumps forward. Forward! Diagonally towards her target she flys! The stick, returning from some sort of cross country trip, slams into the back of white haired man’s head. White hair man jumps vertically.

The woman catches the stick and continues to jump forward towards her prey. Endlessly forward she jumps. She lashes out at the man. The man recoils. The man turns into a Wolf and slashes her across the face but her onslaught of moves is barely interrupted. She kicks, she flays, she lashes out, she smacks the stick over his head, she smacks the stick in his gut, she twirls the stick like a baton around her crotch for a devastating smash to the mans legs (somehow). The man has barely moved but his energy is so low presumably from the onslaught that he no longer wishes to fight.

The time for the final death blow nears. Then it is here! NOW! The woman throws her stick into the air. With a thud the stick lands behind her in the ground. She jumps into the air, landing gracefully on the point of the stick some 6 feet off the ground. She is kicks the air. Again and again. Again. Again. White haired man is making his move. Again she kicks. She seems rooted to the spot. She jumps down off the stick gets kicked in the face then slaps her opponent round the face ending the battle.

I'm enjoying this nonsense.
I am enjoying your account of the nonsense :)
SEKRET MOVE! My staff has turned into, a, um, that Cheese-String guy from the Cheese-String adverts. I love you Japanese brains!

Cheese-String staff boxes with Hellboy. Off screen: my character. Standing about looking pretty.
Trooper (or anyone else) if your still looking that bundle is back in stock at Gamestop - Vita + memory card plus 10 games for £139.97

Hmmmmm.... My want has abated for now, but interesting.
I have no regrets getting exactly that package last month.
I have downloaded Final Fantasy VII in the Final Fantasy sale. Thank god for lazy Fridays so I can play it at work; I ain't answering the phone all day tomorrow.
Crikey, everyone should be playing OlliOlli - it's like crack. The premise is pretty simple, it's a 2D skateboarding game, but it's fiendishly addictive. The controls seem fiddly at first, but once you get the hang of it you're performing tricks and grinds with ease. Only once you've got the hang of that do you start adding spins too.

I've nearly five-starred all of the Amateur levels, but it will take a Herculean effort to manage to do the same for the Pro ones. Then there's the Rad difficulty setting too!

It got 9/10 on YerpGonks and is £7.99. I've already had hours of entertainment out of it. It's one of those games that makes it feel physically impossible to put the controller down and has led to a few too many late nights.
Terraria isn't grabbing me at all. The idea of it appealed to me, but the controls are really fiddly - I don't know if this is just because I'm playing on a handheld.
I'm loving it. It's clearly somewhat control compromised by the port from mouse to pad, but it's not a deal breaker for me.

I can't seem to build a ceiling to my hut in the tutorial because I can't seem to get the cursor to point at the right block for me to place it. It's infuriating.
Have you changed to Manual Cursor mode? That uses the thumb stick to move a mouse cursor around and is what you want for fine precision. Also, a two-finger pinch will zoom in, which again makes precision easier.

I will give it a try.
Cheers for the Terraria tip, although I think I'll probably wait for Starbound Vita. I appreciate that might be a while.
Wipeout 2048 is brilliant. Fantastic controls. Sweet, sweet Kraftwerk on the menu screens. It's got all this and more!
Is no one else interested in OlliOlli then? It's pretty much the perfect game for this platform. I'm not even particularly bothered about skateboarding, but it's just a great arcade game in the sense it's easy to pick up but fiendishly difficult to master.

YerpGonks gave it 9/10!

I've nearly unlocked all Pro challenges, then it's onto the final difficulty level. It's overtaken Spelunky as my 'just one more go before bed' game.
I was playing it until Terraria ate my life. I've almost unlocked all the amateur levels.

See, I stopped playing OlliOlli to give Terraria a try, but then just went straight back.

Oh, Tearaway is £12 at the moment, btw. It's ridiculous how much of a backlog of games I have on a console with no games!
All Pro challenges unlocked! The Rad mode can fuck off - only perfect landings and grinds allowed or you faceplant. I don't think I've got it in me... time to find the 5 golden skateboards and then I'll keep it installed for the daily grind. What a game!
Papers please port ?

Papers, Please creator wants to do PS Vita version

Papers, Please creator Lucas Pope has said he wants to see the game come to PlayStation Vita, but is in two minds over who should make the handheld version of the game.

Pope told VG247 he wants to see the game come to the Sony handheld, but said he was unsure as to whether he wants to handle development himself or hand it off to an outside developer, noting he’s been the only person to have touched its source code and assets, despite offers from elsewhere to help on its recent update that seen it localised in multiple languages.

“Up until now, I’ve been the only guy who’s ever touched the source code or anything related to the game. And that’s just kind of a control issue,” Pope said this past weekend in an interview as part of a broad feature on Papers, Please you’ll see on the site soon.

“A lot of people offered to just, ’send me over the assets and codes and I’ll kick out all your localised versions, you’ll be set’, but I wanted to do it myself because it was a little bit fun and because I’m a control freak.

“For a Vita version, I’m 50 percent I want to do it myself and 50 percent I should just hand it off to somebody who knows what they’re doing and can take it over for me.”

Pope admitted if the game did come to Vita, it would face challenges on the UI to help better suit it, “I do want to do a Vita version, but the thing is there’s a lot of kind of interesting UI challenges to make it work well on Vita: much smaller screen, much smaller hit targets. So that kind of stuff interests me to try to figure out how to make it work well on Vita.

“So that’s the part of me that wants to be really involved in the port, but the other part is like, ’I got to do something else, I got to move onto something else’ so I haven’t really decided what to do there.”

For now; Pope intends to take a break from Papers, Please besides support issues on PC, though intends to make a ’quick, short free game’ before eventually coming back to develop an iPad version of the game.

I heard they're also doing Papers please airport, Papers please train station and Papers please post office.

That's right, I can make with the funnies too. Pow!
Number 1 in the world on OlliOlli's Daily Grind mode with about six hours left. :D
Dropped to number 2. :(
Fight back, fool!
You can do this thing! BeeX boys never give up.

'Cept everyone who can't be arsed to finish anything.

Ok, ok, so that's most, but you gotta do this thing. For you. For BeeX. For Britain!

He can't. You only get one go each day.

You get as many practice runs as you like, but as soon as you play for real, that score is locked in for the day. Faceplant off the first jump? Tough, you score 0.
I have played Dynasty Warriors. Words cannot describe how nonplussed I am about the whole affair.
For any Vita owners who don't own some of these games, a tenner seems like a pretty good price for the whole lot:

Good news for you all – you will now be able to display over 100 applications on Home screen. The limit has been increased to 500 icons.

Like the idea of fighting games, but can't be bothered learning millions of combos? Try Divekick, it only has two moves: Dive and Kick. Surprisingly deep despite that.

Also available on PS3 and PC; XBO/PS4 versions coming soon.

I've played quite a bit on the PC and yes there is a lot to it - one idea at the start was taking the exciting bit of a one on one fighter (the last few seconds) and making the whole game like that.

And i'd say it has more than 2 moves however it only has 2 buttons :-)

(Dive followed by kick gives a different move than kick followed by dive and you can of course press them together !)
Anyone got any idea whats the cheapest way to get a vita? I have so many vita games it seems madness not to. That and I've a lot of crossplay titles that would better suit a handheld.

Whats the difference between a slim and old version? Is it worthwhile upgrade?
Old one has a better screen (OLED compared to LCD, although it's meant to be a very good LCD in the slim), but the Slim has better battery life.
Get the old one if you can. The screen is much better.

£119.19 on Amazon Warehouse Deals at the moment. That's how I got mine and it was flawless.

Hmmm, whichever is cheaper than I guess.

Best price I can find new is ShopTo.net for £129.85. Wifi only.

Also worth bookmarking / checking back on Lewie's site as he often finds cheap ones that crop up and then go out of stock pretty quickly but that 119 above is a good price.

Cheapest that i can see on Savygamer thats still around is a 2nd hand one for £92

http://savygamer.co.uk/2014/03/18/ps-vita-wifi-91-99-2/

You will need to also factor in a reasonable price for a memory card - as big as you can afford and they are quite pricey (for what is just a propitiatory memory card) most games are around 2 gig or so (link for basic sizes - highest i can see on here is the FF pack for 6.6 gig but there are a lot just over 3 http://www.dmgice.com/dg/psvita.html ) if you want a quick way to pick up a card Argos do an 8 gig for £15 http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/p ... 060429.htm or order one from Amazon (16gig plus games for around £32 is not bad http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-PlayStatio ... vita+32gig )

For comparison the older vita's have a OLED screen and are what your going to be able to pick up 'cheaply' the new ones are thinner , have an LCD screen but also have a standard MicroUSB charging cable (the old ones are propitiatory but Sony are really doing well at switching everything over to MicroUSB) and have a slightly longer battery life - the new ones are also in a number of other colours but the big disadvantage right now is that they are 'new' so tend to be quite a bit more expensive

FYI I have the older one and love it - I bought a recharging cable so i can have one in my car and at home - for cards it came with an 8 and i upgraded to a 64gb one which i bought from a Japanese website for around £55 or so but i think you could manage with a smaller one and just swap the games out - and mine is WIFI + 3G but i've never used the 3G in it (and dont fancy picking up another mobile subscription just to occasionally download something when i could just find a wifi hotspot)
Ah, I thought they had swung lower than that, but I guess that isn't really that bad. Cheers though. Really tempted...

Doubly so now my wife has nicked my 3DS to play the new P.Wright.

edit: ooh, thanks Zaphod! Much appreciated. I'm defo getting one, but I think I'll keep an eye of Savvy, I'm gona hope a stock clear of the old version might happen somewhere....
