New Autopsy DVD is specktacliur.

I was all ready to flang pence at Listenable for the new Incantation rekkid limited edition, but then they asked for the same price again for postage from Belgium. Batsards. My only hope is that it'll be on eBay at some point as I'm not paying €50 for an album. Again.
Alcest is one of my favourite bands at the mo. Sur l'océan couleur de fer is amazingly beautiful.
If you like Alcest, try the self-titled Amesoeurs album, too. It's rather splendid.
I do like me some Amesoeurs. Lustre are also good.
New Baptism album's out. Very good it is too. I miss pupil :(

That would be sweet.

Also: John Garcia, Brant Bjork, Nick Oliveri and random guitarist are making an album.
Yeah, under the name.. erm.. Chino Vitibonkaloid or something.
Right up my filthy alley.

Mmm, nice. Slightly NWOBHM guitar lines.

New'un. Hardly one of their best, but nae bad!
Yeah I was dead looking forward to new Incantation, but it sort of falls apart halfway through the album. First couple of tracks are them at their filthy best, but then their attempt at pure Doom is just boring.
Lost Prophets singer charged with child molestation and possession of child porn. It's like Thee Plague of Gentlemen all over again! But with a shit band.
BBC confirms. Proper news when it's on the beeb.

How very odd. Ginger from The Wildhearts has started a grindcore band with Shane Embury, Chris Catalyst from Sisters of Mercy and erm.. Mark E Smith. How... odd.

The first album from this curious project has just been released. It's not really my cuppa, what with the whole death metal thang, but I guess some of you guys would probably like it. Wanna hear a bit?

NSFW natch...

They were nice.

Not quite the 'death metal' I was expecting, except for the verse of that first song. Ginger can't resist his hooks! Sounded like a cross between 'The Sweetest Song' of the self-titled Wildies record and the singles off Endless Nameless.

I've listened to the first album now, and those two songs are probably the heaviest two on there. It's a good album actually; lots of hooks combined with mad time changes and distortion. Good call on the "The Sweetest Song" - it's probably the closest comparison from his previous stuff. It's not quite as distorted as Endless Nameless.

Second half of the Mutation album will probably be out in a week or so. You can order the whole thing plus a lo-fo pop rock album he's done called "Hey! Hello!" for a tenner from his pledgemusic site.
Abbath tries to give a guitar lesson. Fucking love this man :metul:

Forgot to thank you for this link. Very enjoyable EP, even if it needs Pepper.
Just stumbled across the Earache Metalizer app on Spotify. You adjust the sliders depending on how much Metal, Death, Thrash and Grind you want and it'll knock up a playlist for you. Handy for me as it might get me into a few new bands.
Anyone else picked up the excellent Iron Fist mag? New one set up by ex-Terrorizer ed Louise. In its third issue now. Features old interviews from the 70s/80s alongside new stuff. Really like it me, not least for its strapline "Only Print is Real".
New Portal is sounding superb. You can listen to three tracks here (below the review): http://www.invisibleoranges.com/2013/02 ... -vexovoid/
Best random YouTube recommendation ever: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Su0buCsrE9A
Why has it taken so long for Incantation and Morpheus Descends to be this influential? Seems like a good glut of stuff coming out like Black September, Decrepitaph, Charon, Father Befouled and Pseudogod. Love it, me.
It's Cliff Burton's birthday today...this information makes me sad.

Still here's all Cliffies bass parts from Orion.

Saw a Metallica tribute bad, Mentallica, do a pretty good rendition of Orion last night. The bassist had a go at Anaesthesia too, but that was a bit ropey. Still, £4 for a couple of hours of the better Metallica tracks (the only newish one I heard was Fuel) so can't complain too much. :)

That's amazing, thank you. I love his solo near the end. What a beast.

Ageing fact alert: this year, 'Fuel' turns 16 years old.
Sigh. Fucking Kerry King.
When did he become such a ladies front bottom?
Quote:
Jeff Hanneman, who is still recovering from necrotising fasciitis, a flesh-eating disease, which he is believed to have gotten from a spider bite.

Very Metal

He always has been. I went off him in 1998, when he declared gay marriage shouldn't be legal, 'because then they'd think it was okay'.
Of Legions first EP is out today, it's free to download, but donations are very welcome if you feel they are deserved. :)

Thread needs more Weedeater. I could watch Dixie for days, man.

New Ghost tune for ya:

And something I've had stuck in my head all week (thanks to ABIGAIL):
Yeah, I heard the Ghost tune yesterday thanks to Iron Fist. Didn't really do anything for me, sadly.
The latest Darkthrone is like an 80s underground metal remix. Absolutely riff-tastic.

Yeah, it's very NWOBHM. I'm not mad keen on all of it, but the first and last tracks are fantastic. Good to see they're still doing whatever the fuck they like; The Internet seems to want them to release another Transylvanian Hunger every two years... :attitude:
It's the 20th anniversary of the release of Sigh's Scorn Defeat. They're playing a gig to commemorate this tonight, but as I have no way of attending, I'll just have to celebrate by listening to it!

A nice primitive BM album, with such amazing atmosphere. It's always been one of my faves.
Is it metal? Is it prog? It's a bit of both and a lovely noise.

Bleeding shitcunts Grieghallen is shutting. Time to listen to some classics.
The most terrifying black metal band name I've ever heard:

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Dizziness.
I don't like Ghost. They should get their own name, and stop making me think they're the superior Japanese band Ghost.
Funnily enough, they're called "Ghost B.C." in the states now.
There was one song on their debut I liked. The rest was just toothless rock to my ears.
You ever listened to an album for half your life without really thinking about it, then suddenly realised it's the best album ever? I think I've just done that with Seven Churches.
