Good on you, Dimrill
There's various contraptions to go on chimney pots to stop this from happening, I thought nearly everyone had these.
I imagine this one burrowed in from below, most likely digging it's way out of the nearby rock dove jail, but surfacing too early.
It actually transferred via osmosis from next door's chimney.

The good thing is that the fireplace that we haven't used for 8 years or so has now been disconnected from the gas supply for good. Lucky, as the engineery man said there were quite a few things that were dangy arse aboot it. So if it happens again I can whip it out and get down to business.

Hmmm
Don't worry, it's not hard.
You levelled up with this deed.
I thought it might have been one of your birds so your life gauge and mana get refilled also.
The living room TV is kaput. Annoying, but we're 6 days away from Prime Day so I'm hoping I'll be able to get something cheap from Amazon.
Helen's ill, so I went over to the chippy at the shops near us to get some lunch. On walking back my legs suddenly wouldn't work and I went flying like a horrifically massive lard based tonne of shit. Knee's bleeding quite well.
Oh Dimmers :( What caused your legs to stop working? Please go to the doctors :(
Please send love to Helen from Russell and I, too x x x
I dunno :S I went to step up a step but my leg refused to move and the momentum carried me onwards. Then trying to get back up was the same. I was beached like a blubbery whale.
Sorry to hear about Helen. I hope your legs get better soon, too.
Sorry to hear this Dimrill, I hope both you and Helen get better quickly. X
I'll live. I reckon it's either cancer of the leg or ultracovid.
We’re you dreaming of chips? Sounds like your brain stopped sending messages to your muscles. If anything happens like that again please do go to the doctors. Got to make sure our Dimmers is well cared for.
Did you still get to eat the chips?

Ultracovid. At this time of year. In this part of the world. Located entirely within your knees?
No, you cannot see it.
Hope Helen, your legs, and knee get better soon and that your chippy dinner was nice x
Looks like I have had a water leak, as the toilet has moved.

Is it a big job. The get someone to replace the floor or is it an insurance job?
If it is the connection between the soil pipe and the toilet that is weeping then fairly easy:

Turn water off to toilet, flush it a couple of times, unbolt from floor, pull forward. Pull old connection out, cover the new one in water based lube (don't get any on the toilet lid as you'll lean on it when moving the toilet back, slide off and smash your head on the cabinet), slam it in, push toilet back on to it. Bolt toilet to floor, water on, wait and flush then have a beer. Stick a bit of card under it to test.
I have lifted the vinyl, and the wooden (chipboard) floor is wet, and the pan has moved 10 degrees.

It looked to have broken the pipe (nut) from the cistern to the pan, just replaced it, but I think it will be insurance, as water came into the kitchen.
Number ones in the sink and number twos at Gaz and Jem's this weekend then!

Human poos are way too large. You won’t get away with it.

Don’t ask me how I know

Everyone needs a hobby.
Can highly recommend Simon Lane if you need someone to sort it for you. He's the guy who did our bathroom. Local chap.

£2000 I have been quoted to get it fixed :(

Looks like it is an insurance job
You can see the damage from underneath.
Aww, well I guess it's what we have insurance for.
Was that Simon that quoted that for you, Kov?
No, I am waiting to hear from him.

It was another builder, I need a few quotes.

Best it, insurance said, don't touch the ceiling as it is artex, and could have asbestos. Just after I had the ceiling taken down...
Simon did our entire bathroom, including reflooring the entire thing, for a shade under £2K.

Can't belive no one jumped in with e 'big job' joke.
I feel like I've been punched in the face, just underneath my right eye. I don't think I have been punched! But my eye socket, cheek bone, and upper jaw are all throbbing.

Assuming I haven't been punched in the face I think it's either a toothache or sinus infection or some weird head cold. Either way I hope it disappears soon! I've had my knee and toe pain soon, that fantasies of amputations are common thoughts, not sure you can amputate half your head!
Looks like my ceiling is fun
It is a 1980s house, with artex. In the 80s artex could have contained asbestos. Que the ceiling being tested.

The ceiling is being tested for asbestos, amigo.

I can see why. Loved this bit, mind, which lets you read it as 'It's a problem, but mostly in the USA.'

Quote:
“Every time you say, especially in the United States, that you are coming from Asbestos, or they read Asbestos on a package, they are always afraid that it will be poison.”
Results back, it is asbestos. They are removing and replacing the ceilings next Wednesday.
Yikes! All of ours are bloody artex too :S
It shouldn't be a problem if they're in good nick, but it might be worth checking if your house insurance covers asbestos removal
