It said you had to select male or female at the start and you could choose what you identify as later on. If they get unhappy it's because they want to, not because there's a need to.
I disagree. It seems to suggest that there are two sexes but make way for numerous expressions of gender, but there are people born in a number of different intersex states, so the biological duality doesn’t capture everyone. I think it’s been usual to assign intersex individuals a determined ‘sex’ at birth, though there have been many instances where this has been later determined to have been wrong. I don’t know why they didn’t just make a write-in option for both questions.
