I built a wood store out of the decking joists I ripped up and the rosemary tiles from the dorma loft bit. Need to paint the wood to match the rest of the garden woodwork.

Noice! Are the button just held in with friction, or do they have little clips or something?
They're pushed in and have little clips that push against the hole that's strong enough to stop them dropping out when it's turned upside down. They don't go all the way through but they're fine as the only pressure they'll have on them will be from above.
You can get buttons with threads and plastic washers on them that will hold them in but they're more expensive so naturally, I went with these.

Made new chassis legs, body mounts and fuel tank support, not quite finished boxing it in and gusseting but it got dark. I'm going to work from the back replacing all the body mount out riggers and leave the suspension mount boxes till last because I'm scared of them.
Does anybody know how these work. Only a couple of them have locks on but I'd like to take them off. Of course I have no keys... I'm guessing they're child proffered ones, so I might be able to purchase a generic key from somewhere?

New bathroom blind fitted. Incredibly lucky that the holes for the brackets are the same size and distance apart as the old one, so we only had to cut 35mm off the new one for it to fit. Still a bit nervous about cutting it too small, but it’s a perfect fit and apparently defied gravity until I took another photo oriented differently.
New PAX Ikea wardrobes approaching their final form now. The dressing room is coming together.

How do you get the clothes to hang sideways like that?
Other DIY from recent weeks:
* fitted a Nest camera covering the garden. Involved being 2.5 m up a ladder and drilling holes through the exterior wall with a SDS.
* cutting down two kitchen cupboard doors (sourced from eBay) to go above and below our new ovens
* cutting down a third door vertically to fit a slightly non standard 595 mm gap
* changing a light fitting in the dressing room
* changing a light fitting in the dining room
* moving two wardrobes from the first to second floor and rehanging the doors
* working out how to fit a doorstop to prevent the kitchen door hitting the understairs cupboard door (in the end, the stop had to go on the cupboard door, which is a little weird but works)

I took a load of leaves to the tip. Helen massively overfilled the sacks so I was struggling to move and lift them - then the handle tore off one as I tried to empty it into the green bin and as I instinctively tried to hold it, it slammed me forward against an edge on the barrier, right onto the bottom rib on the right side.

My green bin's been 75% full of leaves twice in the last fortnight. My garden vac's been working overtime. The little wheel on the front, to allow easier operation, had a cracked bracket (I've only had it for about 15 years, don't they make things to last any more?) so I Araldited it to avoid having to buy a new one. Two years later and it cracked again. I feel very let down by Araldite. My son recently advised using Q Bond instead. Sprinkle a little bit of powder on the items to be glued and drip a little bit of the liquid on it, and it sets in about 10 seconds. It's brill.

I’ve covered the connecting pipes in that PTE tape ... BUT THERES A DRIP COMING OUT. What’s the quick and simple solution BeeXers!? Preferably one that doesn’t involve me draining the radiator again cause I didn’t notice until it was full and working again! Doh!

Yeah, looks like it. I’ve tightened it as far as it will go which gave me some respite but it’s come back. Do’ya reckon a bit of sealant would be alright?

Take it off and do it again, but better. Make sure the PTFE tape is on there really well. Try getting a pot of that brown runny stuff too. I don't know what it's called but it helps to make a seal.

In my experience there's no quick solution to this. Which side of the valve is the drip coming from? Is it the rad side or the pipe side?
If you're replacing radiators you should clean the pipe ends with fine sand paper to get rid of any dirt or burrs. There should be olives on the pipe ends of the compression joints, I'm assuming they're present and correct as you wouldn't have just a drip if they were absent.
If you've put PTFE tape on the threads and the olives are correct and pipework was clean then one of two things is likely to be the problem. You haven't tightened them enough — you need two adjustable spanners to get the correct tightness, one to hold the valve straight and the other to tighten the nut.
So, it's either not tight enough or there's some small debris on the thread.

You have to tighten them way tighter than you think you do in my experience.

Yes. They’re copper rings that sit inside compression joints and get squashed when tightened, creating the seal. They’re about 8mm wide and either 15 or 22mm in diameter depending on the diameter of the pipe
