Yeah.

Challenge accepted!

How's this coming, Curio?

Was he in those films?

He was, like, fourteen or something. I was quite annoying at fourteen.

eeh,you werent even you at 14

I like him though because he starred in one of the best films ever ever.

Leeches
<shudder>

Quite nice write up on his blog about them getting together for the 25th anniversary

Yeah I read that back when he wrote it, innit.

Few films capture boyhood so well. It instantly takes me back to bike rides in the countryside, building dens in bushes and setting fire to things and stuff... And credit to Wil Wheaton for being in it.

Trooper, did you get anything yet? REPORT BACK.

Cock. Sorry mate. I will at lunchtime.

It doesn't have tunnels, however, there does exist the wildcard that is only for use on routes of 4 saces or more. It also has 'Passengers', of which one gets 4, and there are points to make them go around the track. Which is ok,but inflates the points.

THANKS. Now I understand all those comparion chart things. I couldn't previously understand if a later version had all the features of the earlier one. I quite like the tunnels, it stops things being too deterministic.

For ages I had the IRC logs from when I was 14. I was hugely annoying.

RE: TABLETOP. I thought "why would anyone watch this? Why?! Why would you want to watch someone play a boardgame?! This is worse than a 58-part Let's Play. But for some reason I sat through that TTR one, probably because the comic girl was pretty cute and his wife is a MILF. Anyway, the entire video was instantly not-a-waste-of-time after I watched this bit. Watch for the minute or so it takes to get to THE EVENT. Hilarious.

Quiz question: Was that staged, or a natural event?

All the feedback I've seen says natural - the 'every person facepalms at the same time' also tends to suggest (at least to me) that its real

Is TTR playable with two people? Like, to a decent standard? I've had it in my Amazon basket for YEARS but am reluctant to buy it if I can't play it with the Mrs. It's not often you can get a group of people together for a board game, I find. Not when you're properly cool and maintaining that image.

TTR original and Europe are a bit lame with 2 players. You could try the other versions that are 2-3 players. THIS IS DISCUSSED ABOVE, in fact.

Dave Gorman described Carcassone as "the gateway drug to European board games"

I've played Carcassone on me iPhone, and it was ok.

What's the best option out of that list, or a list like that, for 2 people board games?

For only 2 players, I'd get the Scandanavian version of ticket to ride. Zombies works with 2, but it isn't as fun. Carcassone is quite good with 2 players, but 3 seems optimum for many games.

Carcassone: Hunters and Gatherers is designed with fewer players in mind, I believe. I've played it a few times but can't remember what's so different about it that would help with 2 players. Still: It worked fine with 2 people, as that's what I usually played it as.

Memoir 44 is great and is a 2 player game. You can probably play it as a gateway game, maybe. Dominion also works very well as a two player game, and is one of my favourite games SO BUY THAT.

Get the Nordic version as described above.

If you have an Iphone (or any IOS device) grab the game on there for free and give it a try - the tutorial starts with 2 players and takes you through a basic game (although it will allow you to add on other AI controlled players)

Next one is up...this time a personal favourite of my gaming group MUNCHKIN, I'm sure there won't be as much swearing and threats involved in Wheaton's game as the ones I'm usually involved in.

Fucking Angel thing.

I hav all three MTG games on Live, and all the expansions if you, or anyone else, wants a game.
Mr Rab Florence (he of many things including Consolevania) has a series of boardgame reviews:

Only watch the Horus Heresy one which was quite good.
Burningston and Rockpapershotgun killed DowntimeTown. RIP Downtime Town.
I only recently discovered Burnistoun...why is this not on national BBC? Or at the very least stuck on BBC3?

Silly BBC.
Because people like me probably thought it was a bit rubbish? Some bits were good, but it felt forced and I hated the fake-laughs. 50%, 2.5 stars.

Still making it better than 95% of BBC 3's schedule.

You have't bought Formula one?
Formula One is mine, and I'm not coming.

GUTTED!
What about "Blast Off!"

Maybe. I'll have a look in my parents loft.
I'll definitely bring the following:

Ticket to Ride US
Settlers of Catan ('Have wood, want sheep' never ceases to be hilariously funny)
Kill Doctor Lucky (the object of the game is a little opaque to new players)
Chrononauts (time-travelling Hitler-killing japery)

Can't wait.

My point was, obviously, that he should have bought it after seeing your copy as he did with Blast Off. hence bought rather then bringing. Silly.

Who can tell what you mean to type with that terrible Android keyboard you use?
Has anybody got Shave-a-sheep? It's fucking hilarious.

We played the Swiss* map on Ticket to Ride last night. It was good. I prefer it to teh Nordic one right now. We might try the Indian map tonight.

*NOTE: You'll need the train cards and trains to play this. Take them from another set.

was typed correctly, and I'm quite certain that the apple equivalent of this keyboard would be equally as shit (and if it isnt, apple have done something wrong)
