I was surprised to learn that ST:TNG is older than Red Dwarf.

In this country Red Dwarf aired first, but in my head they were around a decade apart.

Bridgerton is good. Well shot, very colorful, well written enough, and everyone is beautiful. There's lots of stuff about getting married and things like that, and all super good.

Regé-Jean Page is a bloody handsome fella.

The only thing slightly problematic with Bridgerton was the absolutely predictable plot, but it was still excellent Christmas binge watching material.
We’ve been bingeing Greg Davies ‘Man Down’ since the Christmas break. Piss funny at times, some great cameos and insane situations. Recommend you give it a try if your stuck for something to watch.

Huh, same. That bit with the housekeeper was superb.

I also liked The Dutchess, but if you're one of those people that doesn't like Katherine Ryan then you'll probably struggle :)

Ah, well reminded, I've been meaning to check out the Dutchess.

I'm a big fan of Katherine Ryan, doubly so after that horrible business with Slowthai (feels like last year, but guess it probably wasn't).

Indeed. And many other bits too.
We've just finished the first series of Ghosts with the kids. It's been an absolute joy. Nine-year-old laughs like a drain at most of it, 4-year-old laughs at the slapstick.

Genuinely funny characters, who each bring something very different to the absurd setup. The politician trying to manipulate objects with his mind never stops being funny.

And myself and Mrs Fop have found it very funny indeed. A few risque bits in terms of sex, but it's never explicitly referenced e.g. a filmstar is frequently referred to as a free pass. Certainly I think we managed to finish the series without needing to have The Talk with Mini Fop the elder.

Would highly recommend, and looking forward to cracking on with S2.
Just watched the first episode of series 2 of "Drag Race UK" and I've only just worked out what "tuck/untuck" refers to.

Oh, and

the wrong queen was eliminated.
In regards to your spoiler, I absolutely agree!

Did you watch the first series of Drag Race UK? Or any of the US episodes?
I've only seen the first UK one and the Canadian one. The whole phenomenon had passed me by until a weekly Zoom quiz I used to do had a Ru Paul round one evening. Out of curiosity I put the first BBC episode on afterwards and had not experienced such a burst of colour and energy since Dorothy took that flight out of Kansas. Yet to see a US version.
I didn’t enjoy the Canadian series too much, but the UK and US series are both good, yet really different. The US queens are so much more polished than the U.K. ones, but the U.K. queens are so much funnier and generally more engaging.

The dancer in the new series is stunningly beautiful both before and after getting into drag.

Very much all of :this:

Can't wait for S3 later this year.

There's a third series? Excellent. Really good news, a properly lovely show.

I used to sort-of know Sum Ting Wong from the first UK series ( we went to the same fencing club for a while ). He could drink most people under the table and did amazing halloween costumes.
Haha, brilliant! Was he doing drag at the time, do you know?

Edit: to clarify... I don’t mean was he sword fighting and boozing in a dress. Was he doing drag performances in the period you knew him?
Yep! This must have been 6 or 7 at years back at least and i think he was just starting out! He still had a "day job" but was performing quite often. I am certain he was boozing in a dress, but maybe not swordfighting at the same time! ( although entirely possible )
BBC 4: Lucy Worsley's Royal Palace Secrets
An easy watch, with some glimpses of rooms not normally open to the public. The sight of Lucy Worsley dressed as a bishop gleefully running around the Tower of London is what we need right now.

Watched every episode now.

All I’ll say is, “Milky Sue”. :luv: :DD :spew:
I have just watched and finished Enterprise. That means I have now finally watched every Star Trek episode ever aired. Enterprise was very enjoyable, mostly. Discovery not so much, as it seems to have gone a bit odd.

Now to find something as equally easy to watch when on my indoor bike. I am thinking agents of shield or Battlestar galactica, but I am open to suggestions. It has just to be easy to watch and not to complicated.

Gotham is the show I turn to for mindless entertainment. I don't care how implausible every plot twist or miraculous reanimation of previously 'dead' characters is. It's meant to be fun and OTT.

Cobra Kai is the most undemanding but fun thing I've seen for a while.

On the subject of mindless, sometimes I'll just pick any old rubbish on Netflix more as background than anything. Last week I rattled through (mainly napped through) several episodes of Benidorm. Very predictable stuff until you reach an episode with an escaped murderer who for some reason is a Javier Bardem in No Country For Old Men parody:

except he's a murderer with a slow puncture.

Despite being a huge Trek fan, I've never watched The Animated Series.

Have you done Babylon 5?
Watch Seaquest DSV!
As the one where they go through a portal to space(?) and... ancient Egypt(??)

Stargate
Stargaze, yes, that’s the one. They are both low-effort but fun.
Star Trek Lower Decks just started on Amazon Prime. Come on, Kov, it's like you're not even trying.

Is there an animated series. Not seen that.

Babaylon 5. Was great. I really enjoyed that series.

What on earth is that? I will have to Google :)

I managed 4 episodes for Gotham today. I will give this a go.
Drag Race UK 2 (episode 4)

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
I enjoyed Ginny and she definitely grew on me, but it was the right time for her to go. I'm sure her show is excellent however, but I don't think she would have lasted long in the later stages.

Can't quite decide if walking out during the lipsync was the noble act to save her friend (Sister, Sister is my favourite - seems really skilled and likeable) or just a way to avoid hearing "sashay away" but was dramatic nonetheless and if you're ready to go anyway you might as well make a show of it.

I’m not ‘sad’ to see Ginny go, but last night’s episode just didn’t sit right with me. Though I can’t say I enjoyed her schtick (which was Su Pillard Snashed into Christopher Biggins, not bad in itself, but seemed an act of yesteryear and nothing you hadn’t seen before if you are a child of the 80s, but she seemed like a much stronger contestant than Sister Sister who I have barely even noticed about from when she is moping about something not being her fault. But I thought it was a weak exit, and if you have to leave at the merest hint of criticism I don’t think it’s the right show for you. I thought who was at play when she left, not some noble throwing herself at the wolves to save Sister Sister (the exit interview basically saying she’d have won the lipsync and wound be to blame for Sister Sister leaving.

Ellie Diamond’s question to Ru went down like a lead balloon :DD

The ending (break for Covid) jolted me a bit as though I knew there had been a big break in filming for that reason, it being one of my main escapes from the current world just hit me back into reality a bit suddenly.
Sin (Channel 4) is absolutely fantastic.

It is. We binge watched it last week. The cast were on BBC Breakfast this morning, along with the founder of the Terence Higgins Trust and a consultant working on HIV/AIDS. It seems the programme has kicked off a spike in people applying for HIV testing.
BBC 3 returning to a linear form next year. This is good, as although most of what I watch is on Iplayer, I usually only know about stuff that either appears in the weekly listings or is mentioned here.

It does mean that I'll have to rejig my TV's carefully-constructed channel numbering scheme yet again.
Watched the first two parts of The Terror last night. It felt suitably chilly and claustrophobic, but seemed to lack any actual, er, terror. I'll keep watching as some of the characters are quite compelling, especially the petty officer's devious grin.
We started watching Bridgerton. Just an episode per night so as not to binge watch it. It’s beautiful, visually, and gently funny.

The youngest Bridgerton girl reminds me of Kern. As in, if Kern had a twin sister, or a daughter, I’d imagine she’d look like that young actress.

The Terror was one of the ships. The title lured you in, thinking that they were all going to go bonkers or be attacked by a slavering alien..... but either of those COULD happen later.
Mrs. W and I have been watching The Crown. Yesterday we saw the episode featuring Diana realising the horror of joining the royal family, her attempt to call off the wedding and failing to get any of them to even talk to her, and then Charles came back from a tour and went to see Camilla before his fiancé. The whole thing, if it's anything like what actually happened, is bizarre.

And today we have news of Megan's Oprah interview, spilling the beans on her experiences. Sounds like nothing much has changed.
It's on ITV tonight, probably hosted by Ant and Dec.
