Threadus Resurectus!

I did post this in the Cthulhu thread already, but not everyone reads that. So I'm whoring it on here too!

Reading through this thread again makes me think what a crying game shame it is that we haven't seen any hot Dimrill pencil action for so long.
That's frickin' awesome!
Ta very much.

Got a couple more things at various stages of completion too.

Been really enjoying getting back into it all, I think the photography got the ball rolling and has given me a kick up the arse to produce more.
Finished another tonight.

Moon Fiend!

I like that a lot.
You should watermark these, Z.
I don't want the ink to run though.
What medium are they? Is it all on the PC?
Drawn by mouse completely in Adobe Illustrator.
That's supah boffo, that is.
Thanks you guys
Can we haz an expanded edition for desktoppage plz?
Yis.

£2 per pixel.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
What screen res?
But that would be £4,147,200

*checks for loose change*
I can't see any other way to beat this recession, Prime Mimister.
Good work Zardoz.
Yeah lovely stuff mate. Where's my painting and my drawing from Dimrill? :ninja:
My pencil lobe has bost.

Then use a pen.

Simple.
I make far too many mistakes for a pen.
Not right now thanks.
Due to the underwhelming success of the Spooky photo challenge I decided to do a little something for Halloween with a pencil and a computer.

[Edited for colour correction]

Thanks.

Still tinkering with it, but wanted to post what I'd done before Halloween was over.
Yeah, lovely that. It's pretty weird how the stuff you draw with a pencil doesn't look all that different to what you've drawn with a mouse, you freak.
Yes. That one has the original pencil drawing overlaid on the illustrator file, but the ghosts are all 'drawn' by mouse in illustrator.
That's fucking ace, Z.
Would this be a good place to place an ad for my brothers blog?

He's a budding artist and very good too!

I may have already posted this but you know, I'm quite proud and all that.
He's pretty good, isn't he? I particularly like the Scarecrow pic.
Updated the version above for better colour and tinkered with this version too to give it a more misty/foggy look:

Big versions of both up on my Flickr pages.

Just wait until I steal them first, please.
Some recent, completely ripping off William Morris, work:

The peacock one didn't really work. It wasn't as abstract as Morris's work,so ended up looking like I'd tried badly to paint a realistic picture of a peacock, I think, rather than looking like a deliberate wallpaper print style

A quick daub:

And a slightly older sketch of the kids - I really can't do faces. I should probably practice more often.

Totally didn't know you could draw, yo.
I agree with you about the peacock, but the first one is really good.
The drawing of your kids looks good to me, got character coming across and nothing looks obviously out. You can see there's more time and consideration taken over the faces (as should be) but I think a bit more time/tweaking the areas like the hands which are quite simplified would really help.

I don't like drawing from life, I always think that's what cameras are for :)

Rather let my mind wander. Not done anything myself for ages actually, ill have to start something.

Me neither. I really like the one of the kids; while the faces do need work as you say I think you've really captured the anatomy and poses well there. Good stuff dude.
The latest little daub - Ruth wanted this as a birthday present, bless her.

bunk
Haven't really touched a pencil or watercolour in a long time - until last night, when I was trying to get the kids to do something constructive, and we each sat drawing stuff. This was a 25 minute doodle:

Bloody curved surfaces at an angle are just nightmarish.

That said, Ralph McQuarrie should design everything that happens in the future.
