Because it was going to have no lights in it at all, and everything was going to be black or carbon.

So case.

Fans.

And etc. For me it's very low key, and just reminded me of Mike when he used to wear nothing but black.

Unfortunately I faltered a little. I got a set of Phanteks 140mm halos to cover the gap between the 120 rad and 140 mount locations.

in gun metal. I wasn't going to hook up the LEDs, but curiosity (he's a sod he is) got the better of me.

So I got some Phanteks "Neon" strips. That is supposed to be white. Also, the glass is off in that pic so it's way brighter than it should be.

(yes I have googled)

Can I have an opinion on wireless keyboards? Which do you have?

I am thinking of getting one, to tidy my desk.. There seems to be a lot of logitech choices.
Haven't you just bought a wired mouse?

No, I got the MX Master.

For that sort of money I’d want something mechanical though. Don’t even know if they make wireless mechanical keyboards.
I can't stand those massively clackety keyboards, they're fucking well annoying. Someone in the office has one and it always sounds like they're typing into the Daily Mail comments section or something.
I struggle to use anything else, although I'm well aware of the noise they create :/
/pats DAS4

You can get quiet switches, if the noise really annoys you. There's nothing better to type on, though.
I couldn't give a shit about the noise, I'm just not sure the people around me at work agree ;)

Still, benefit of lockdown I suppose. Jem just tunes it out :P

IBM Model M (well, Unicomp clone) 4 lyfe.

I have considered getting a "linear" switched keyboard though (I think it's linear) - Cherry MX Browns are supposed to be quieter?
Just get the "silent" versions.

what are folks recommendations.

Whatever Logitech one fits your preferences and budget. MX Master, maybe. I've switched to the MX Vertical and they're nice too.

I love this mouse.. The 'guesture' button. I have set to pause and play, so when I am listening to stuff i can, well yes pause easily.

I am tempted to get this mouse for my work machine, I am really really impressed.

Hnrgh, my inner gadget fiend is twitching now. But I can't justify £100 on a new mouse at the moment (especially as I just spent similar on a Garmin Vivosport 4).

There's nothing wrong with my current, very basic wireless mouse. But I'd imagine it would be a bit like hopping out of a perfectly serviceable Vauxhall Astra and into a Beemer.

The Master MX is £50 at amazon.. The MX2 & 3 is more. Is this helping :)

Thats how I got the master mx2.

Is good mouse.
Going to wait for Logitech to have a sale then swoop like an owl for my mouse.
I finally decided on a monitor.

XG32VQR. I've had my old HP for over five years now.
I've got 8GB of 2133MHz RAM in my machine and was vaguely considering upgrading that to 16GB as it wouldn't cost all that much but, realistically, would I see much in the way of benefits? I wouldn't need it for any day-to-day stuff as it's not like I'm doing anything at all intensive so it really comes down to gaming; is it likely the amount of RAM I've currently got is actually presenting any kind of bottleneck? The other important components are Core i5-7400 3GHz and GTX 1060 6GB in case that matters.
Is it dual channel? If it's one stick it can reduce gaming performance.
JohnCoffey wrote:

Two sticks of 4GB in there at the moment.
Unless you're getting warnings and crashes you should be fine then, though ram is very cheap ATM.
The low price is why I was considering it, but if I'm not going to see any benefit then it would still be spending money for nothing so no point really.
You'll always benefit from more RAM eventually. Faster RAM will help in a few scenarios too, where memory bandwidth is important.
When you say upgrade do you mean adding a pair of the same stuff so you're on 4x4?

From my memories of this kind of thing that'd be the thing to do if you have the pair of slots available. But they're distant memories...

Nah, I'd have to replace what's there so I'd have 2 X 8GB. Which isn't a problem in itself, but if I'm not going to get any appreciable gaming benefit from it then I'm not bothered.
Forgot to post a celebratory pic of my 2070 fitted, and me finally solving the issue that has been plaguing my rig since I upgraded it.

Image

I haven't wired up the RGB yet, because it needs yet another adapter. The amount of different RGB that exists is troubling FFS. I also discovered that the rig wasn't stable. Like, under heavy loads it would crash. It's been sorta doing that since I initially built it, and I went through three vertical ribbons trying to eradicate the problem. After stripping down most of the wiring (which took me about a month) I finally discovered that the two ground cables that go into the 8 pin extension for the GPU were loose, and that is why it was unstable.

Image

As you can imagine it was tons of fun. Especially with so much electronics wedged into it. I left it folding for three days, and with the WUs it had it was fine. So now it is going to be my server, given it's rammed full of PCIE hard drives and uses a metric ton of lanes.

I also forgot to post the spec of Mike Tyson.

So my buddy machined them from 10mm black acrylic. It should slide around on the carpet nicely now :D

Take that, then multiply it by infinity.
Took a punt on this keyboard.

Uses unifier, so only one usb needed.

First impressions. Not a bad little keyboard.
Looks very spongy :/
It is not to bad at all... no worse that the dell keyboard it has replaced..
It's new pc time... Are you ready for LED overload?

By all accounts it runs like shit even on high end RTX cards. This laptop has an RTX2070 in it, I might install it and have a look just for a laugh.
Still can't find a reasonable priced webcam... a bit annoying.
Amazon had some for about £30 earlier. could not speak as to quality.
