I bought those months ago for a friend's birthday - but I still haven't seen her to hand them over (she lives miles away). Every night I get home from work and there's this package staring at me, begging me to open it and keep the figures for myself.

Dude, this very morning I bought a robotic plant made by Sega from thinkgeek.com.
I want some of the blue Space Putty, but I refuse to pay the price of the thing again for postage.

I save up my purchases so I can buy a few things at once from there to try and justify the delivery costs.

They've got box-sealed, unused US Sega Dreamcasts for sale on there at the moment, which was why I went on there in the first place yesterday. I was sorely tempted to buy one, but they want £70 each for them. Probably not a bad price for an unused Dreamcast, but I can't justify it when I have two fully-functional UK models at home.
I have a proper fear of zombies and have often tried to plan what to do in the event of an invasion. It is hard to settle on an option since there are so many variables-

what type of zombie are they ( i am aware of the zombie/not zombie discussion but i fall on the side of zombie-if they are a human body but intent on biting/tearing/eviscerating then they are a zombie, I don't care what speed they move at!),

where did the infection start(if it was Asia, we may have time to gather all bezzies together- Surely this would be the greatest zombie fighting group in existence, even without guns?)

Is everybody susceptible to the virus or are there some people who are immune?( this changes our objective since it would no longer be a matter of survival, there may be a mission involved, ie. find someone who is immune, find a scientist who has started broadcasting a message on a radio frequency we pick up, take the immune person to said scientist to create a cure.)

If we have time to gather, i think this is the best idea. Power in numbers! Dimrill's mall plan sounds good.

Not really. Running is hardly my strength, Myp needs 14 hours sleep every night, and we'd try and escape in Kalmar's car but the battery would run out in about 3 miles.
I would suggest a large supermarket. Not a brand new one with big windows, but an older one, brick built, no windows. Thinking about it, a CostCo might be a good bet. Guns might be a bit tricky to obtain though...
Wullie could ferry us to an oil rig in the north sea. Unlimited power! Big shonky legs for to keep zombies away! With!

On the upside, we could throw out more learned members to the horde. Their over-developed brains will distract the evil shamblers long enough for a low-speed escape.

:smug: Phew! That's me safe then!

Oi! I only need 12 hours sleep a night.
I think that if we get enough warning, everyone should start heading to Scotland picking up more people as you go. Once here we can head from one of the less densly occupated areas, staying by the sea incase a hasty exit on Wullies boat is required. Whilst heading northwards we can try to make it to the RAF base in Fife for either safety or for a chance of some guns if they have succumbed to the virus. We can then try to set up camp somewhere, possibly a supermarket or mall near Inverness? With our superior gaming knowledge and tactics we can hopefully pull off something and then with our partners* repopulate the world.

*I don't think my partner and I can help with that last bit.

Can we skip straight to that?

You can. Just lie back and think of England Scotland.

Bagsy Top Bunk!

No you'd all fall in love with Fleetwood, decide to stay, and get killed. By the locals.

But what about the zombie apocalypse?

You are so gallant, offering to utilise us in that way!!

what are you part dormouse??

Two of us kneeling at the front meleeing furiously while two more behind blaze away with assault rifles?
Zombies would get bit by the locals and die again.

:hat:

Why of course. Although I may have to be careful if I'm kneeling in front of Myp, just in case he decides to start repopulating the species there and then.
Kovacs Caprios wrote:

I obviously don't really; I usually get between 7-8 hours a night. The fact that I get up at 6am means I usually go to bed around 10ish, just when a lot of these reprobates are allowed to play games feel like turning up on Xbox Live.

It's a dirty job, but someone's gotta do it. Doggy style.
Why would I head to Scotland in a Zombie attack? Surely the point is to survive.

This sounds like a fine plan.
You can use the cow barn next to my house as an assembly point - it has a tractor in it with spikes on the front, and there's good access to the M90.
For a location in Inverness, I recommend the Highland Industrial Supplies warehouse just south of the bridge. For all your crowbar and nailgun needs.

And remember: Zombies are attracted to the sound of running engines - a silent electric vehicle would be invaluable for scouting missions.

Excellent,I think we've got a good chance folks! That location sounds perfect.

@malabar-in Scotland peoples blood acohol content is so high the zombies should be extra flammable.
@myoptika-I think there must be a better way tbh, ideally I should still be able to shoot.
Now, all we need is a secret twitter code word to begin the exodus (Operation Leave No Zardoz Behind) at the first sign of trouble.

Why would we want to take him with us?
Has any one mentioned a conbine harvester for shreading said zombies?
Newbie mistake. Too much noise. More conflict means more chance of infection.

Wheelbarrow?
Shit covered stilts! Why have I never thought of this before?

Unless you mean an actual wheelbarrow, then in order to have a gun in her hands she'd be facefirst in the dirt. I'm not sure you've thought this through.

They aren't attracted by the loud noises; it's the really small ones, like a beeping pipebomb, that brings the swarms.

iPhone owners won't last long then...
You're mixing up zombies with the shitbiscuits in Left 4 Dead there.
Bring extra gaffer tape for your Katana too.

Ditching the batteries from your torch will make it lighter AND safer.

Orange Juice.
Meh katana. Blunt force trauma much betterness. Besides, even master katana wielders can't sever a neck, or so Mythbusters taught me.
Quite. Sledgehammers and pneumatic tarmac levellers are the way forward.

I have a flail.
Craster wrote:

Sledgehammer = too heavy. Jackhammer = too noisy, and you'd have to drag the compressor around with you.

Crowbars and battery powered nailguns are where it's at, honestly.

I am made of flail.

That's more like it.
Dimrill wrote:

You prefer a Katona then.
We've had all this before from 'Shovel Boy'. Shotgun and Chainsaw is the only way for me, when it's time, I'm embracing it with the cool stuff.

I can totally understand why you're not well-versed in these kinds of things, but I really think it would work better if you left the shooting to me.

Two weapons that, once you use them too much, stop working entirely.
My Louisville Slugger is on standby halfway up the stairs.
