I'm off to Manchester very, very soon... is there anything else I should know, or anything I should have a look at while I'm over there?

I'm trying to think of amazing stuff Manchester has that nowhere else does, but there's not much really. The arndale centre is just another shopping centre. Pretty large thesedays containing all the shops you'd expect, as well as a europe's largest Next tagged on the side, but still just a shopping centre.
Two million pubs, bars, etc. some better than others, and so forth. Britain's protection is the place to go for whisky, and Temple bar is fun because it used to be a public toilet and is microscopic in size.
If I gave a toss about culture I might think of some cultural stuff to point you at, but I'm not, so I won't. There are lots of coffee shops. Lots. I like cafe nero.
The most notable non-standard thing I can think of recently is the giant real-snow ski slope they just finished building next to the trafford centre. I've been, its good, massive, and freezing cold.

The Frog & Bucket is a good night out at the comedy. (Better than the Comedy Store, usually, due to lack of pissed stag and hen nights.) Printworks if you want your chain restaurants like Hard Rock. Chill Factore is the ski slope - though you have to nip into the Trafford Centre next door for proper food.
If you find the Temple of Convenience, then walk straight ahead and you get to the Peveril of the Peak. And then that is round the corner from the Britons Protection. The all you can eat Chinese buffet next to the Temple is pretty good too.

Oh. It wasn't open when I went - though admittedly that was about two weeks after the place opened.

Recommend the Northern Quarter, plenty of cool bars that arent pretentious, and some that are if you like that.

etc etc
Also some good venues there, pick of the bunch probably Night'n'Day cafe which is also good for food in the day time and hot chocolate. Also just down the road from the nice shops the previous guy mentioned. The road you want is Oldham Street.
Also near hear is Matt'n'Phredds Jazz club, does greast pizzas and jazz if you like that kinda thing.
I beleive bodyworlds is still on at the Museum of Science and Industry (off deansgate) well worth a look but book online in advance.
Take whoever you are currently shagging on the big wheel in The Triangle (nr Marks and Spencer) for some cloud high kisses.
Also cloud high is CLoud23, the bar on the 23rd floor of the Hilton. Its about £6 for an orange juice but the views are apparently amazing and its all glass so you can even look down in some parts.
There are some fine places to eat.
For an indian check out EastZEast there are now 2, one on deansgate, one on Princess Street (near UMIST).
For some good portions and reasonable prices I like Grinch, off deansgate.

eastzeast is great, I went to the one just off CHARLES STREET 
which is next to the Uni (not UMIST, which ceased to exist in 2004).

As I got out of bed this morning, my keys fell from the end of the bed and onto the floor.
Which means one of three things:
- I didn't take them to Manchester with me (very strange)
- I tried to take them to Manchester, but they fell out of my pockets before I even left the house (not so strange) and somebody put them on my bed for me.
- I took them to Manchester, lost them there, but my keys returned to me like Indiana Jones' hat in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. (most likely) (though it's also likely that my future self travelled back in time and returned my keys for me. Thanks future me! Gotta make a note to do that later.)
