I was just wondering if we have any MMO players here?
I've tried a few and flit about from one to another..though mostly I am sad to admit I am hooked on WoW..I don't know how that happened..I can point out better things in other games..but still.
Any WoWers? GWs? Any other online games?

I play EVE, although not nearly as much as I used to. MaliA plays too (although he's a dirty dirty griefer).
I played DAOC from launch and then off and on for the next couple of years (for periods of a month at a time before giving up and returning to it after a couple of months).
I played COH during Euro beta and then for about 3 months afterwards.
I played WoW for about three months last year before getting bored of it.

I tried EVE, I like it and the character creation is cool..I'm not that into Sci-fi and I'm too impatient for training really.
However I do have a character if I decide to try again.
I like GW, my characters, imo, rock..but without many people I lose interest.
Pirates of the Burning Sea was cool, I beta tested it..but I don't know anyone that plays it...and I hear they have not really fixed issues it had.
I liked FFXI a lot but the bastards did nothing but rip you off.

I have never played MMO's for fear of losing my "life". To me vidoe games have always been about a one off challenge you use to have fun with your mates. No different to scrabble or chess, in that they are skill challeneges that require presence of mind and focus, rather than just playing for ages. I know you can argue that playing for a long time in WoW can lead to increased skill but the tighter rules of chess and scrabble lead to a more "pure" game than most MMO's.
I have no doubt that I could lose plenty of time to WoW, or especially, EVE but I know it is for the best I stick to racers with my mates in the same room. So I can hit them if they win.

I have GW and could happily be persuaded to play it. I am...a really, really low-level character who has done that first bit (pre-Burn, or something), but didn't know anyone at a similar level at the time. Sodding betas and WoW put paid to that.

Currently bumming about on WoW, mildly faffing on EvE, and I do still have my GW installed (the first one, not the expansions) if anyone fancies it.

I couldn't really get into COH..I like COV. Hm, what does that say about my personality.
I have GW Factions and Nightfall. Haven't played either for aaages, though.
Oogh. I'm very drunk right now, so apologies for misspelling. But anyway, I'm very much enjoying my level 37 on Lord of the Rings Online. I tried City of Heroes and Villaisn and that was fun up to 25, and Eve was just too scary for me - os LotR:O is the one for me so far.

EDIT: I've not logged in in over a month, although the weekned HAS gotten me tempted again. That and I finally got Recon V done, and, yeah, there is much pirating still to be done, as I am -9.87 and not -10 yet.
EvE's good, just don't take any other player's actions personally, and it's fine.
I used to play City of Heroes and Villains for about a year and a half. I "played" mostly to scratch my OCD itch of collecting badges in it, but then I got incredibly bored with the tedious grinding and same frigging missions, so stopped. After 6 months I cancelled my subscription and don't miss it in the slightest.
Is the Firefly MMO still being made?

The only one that tickles my fancy is the Warhammer one but only because I like the game world. I'll give it a try but no doubt it'll be the same old story and it will become a grind-a-thon within a month.

The only one I've ever been tempted by is Guild Wars. I even bought the collector's edition, since there's no monthly fee to have to pay after that. Watching CoH at Dimrill's, it looked quite interesting - but I couldn't pay money every month like that. Hoorah for Guild Wars!
Eve is 20 quid for 3 months nowadays. YAY COLLAPSING DOLLAR!

Get a free trial for eve, roll up the character that can fly a Rifter quite well from the off, run a couple of misisons until you've got a million in the bank (Or ask Grim... for a loan, he's rich), and join the Red Vs Blue PvP alliance and blow stuff up for a couple of weeks. That'll get you over the massive barrier that is losing ships and all of your stuff, and then you'll turn pirate and grief people in low sec and 0.0 forever more.

I was thinking baout this in the shower the other day, and realised what a bloody waste of time it was for me training up Gallente Battleships and Amarr Battleships as all I ever fly is the various types of cruisers, even in 0.0 fleets. That, and I remember the dread pilots over vent timing the siege modes and the voice going 'Reloading' 'reloading' and stuff.

I have played GW a bit with a couple of friends off another forum, who play it quite regularly. My character is a level 18 Minion Master Necromancer/Mesmer.
I did play CoV a bit, but I didn't get much into it, and it was taking up too much time.
I play WoW still, but I am on US servers so I won't ever be able to play with anyone here I expect. I play less now than I did in the last few months because I got back into building for fun and profit in SL again. I have a level 70 druid, and some other characters at lower levels.

I am finding Lord of the Rings Online fun. It's great for exploration, and some of the scenery is pretty breath taking. Bonus points for Everdim, which looks like the Lake District. Plus the people who play it are overall really friendly and mature - I've never heard anything homophobic or snide on there. It has its flaws, and doesn't entirely escape the grind despite its best efforts but the story arcs are great fun. I found my first Ent on Sunday. Neat.
I really am quite tempted by Eve though, and being taken under the wing by you Eve players here. Not sure if there's room in my life for two MMO's though. Hmm.
Never actually tried WoW. I used to like CoH & CoV, but found it too repetitive. I was actually a little shocked by how little the missions varied too.

My corp was full of genuinely nice people, which is why it was all the worse. I watched them gradually turn into cynical, jaded casual homophobes just from playing EVE.
The other side of it was having to effectively sit and stare at a black screen for three hours in a night on "ops" while not being able to watch TV or listen to music because of needing to pay attention to TS was a hugely boring and wasteful way to spend time I could otherwise be using either having fun or earning spends.

Because the specific American friend I wanted to play with got WoW first, and had the US game on US servers. There is no way to play on both with one account.

I'd be up for this. Although the highest ships I can fly are Cruisers, I can fly a wide variety of them. Never really done PvP much though, as I am a carebear of the highest order (but as long as I have moneys available to replace stuff going bang I'm not bothered)

Might not be for a couple of mnths though, I need to use my time wisely and get a new job sharpish. In the meantime, I'm in contact with some industrial types from the game that like building stuff with a bit of PvP thrown in, so I can put them in touch with you ingame, maybe, if you want.

I probably won't re-activate for a little bit, I need to wait until I get paid again. But if there were enough people wanting to try a BETEO Corp, I can happily teach the basics and stuff.

Oh, mali A can't enter high sec, but hauler bitch and selling bitch can...
Hauler bitch can fly up to a BC (Gallente) and fly an Iteron IV. Selling bitch can't do anything but buy and sell. Hauler bitch can also do this.
Mali A can fly Amarr and Gallente up to Battleship and has decent drones and tanking skills, and can also fly an Iteron IV...
EDIT: Old Man afterthought can fly lots of things and is very rich but he doesn't like low sec and pew pew pew so he can do what he wants for the time being.
