Mr Robot is BACK, Baby! The final season and I’ve a feeling that after the betrayal of Game of Thrones that, actually, Mr Robot is going to stick the landing.

It certainly landed the, erm, start: it was fucking ace how the “Previously on Mr Robot” went straight into the episode. Freaked me out as the realisation came that I hadn’t misremembered how the scene went.

Great episode, by the way. That hour just flew by.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer had the best "previously" in The Gift at the end of S05. Except Final Space has the best ones because of the commentary. Except Brain Dead has the best ones because JoCo sings them.
Surely 60s Batman had the best ‘previously’ sequences?

Babadababadabaaa
On the flight back from the UK on Friday night I watched most of Chernobyl. Goodness me. Despite knowing some of the facts, and being faintly conscious of it at the time, it's a fairly terrifying watch.

Episode 2 demonstrates that I’m less interested in the story but just utterly adore the performances and the characters. Elliot and Darlene are fantastic together.

Then there was a BIG TWIST that threatens your entire understanding of the last three seasons. Which is cool and all, but Darlene smoking on a windowsill is just unbearably great to watch.
Succession is for sure one of the best shows on right now. Ending to the second season was masterful. Can't get enough of this show.

I think it's gonna go down as one of the greats.

I didn’t pay for it
Jack Ryan is back next Friday. Very much enjoyed the first series. It was so competently assembled it was like comfort TV with guns and jihadists.

Oh, super!
Speaking of guns and death cults, the latest episode of Riverdale was amazing.

As usual, I’m lagging behind on Riverdale and only just watched the season opener.
Apple TV Plus has been launched so I’ve tried a couple of their shows.

For All Mankind is great if you have more than a passing interest in the early days of space exploration and I’m really interested to see where they go with it. There’s a nice mix of historical figures mixed in with new characters and it starts to diverge from real history in quite a plausible way.

See is the other one. Post apocalyptical shenanigans in a world where everyone is blind. Jason “typecast” Momoa is doing his thing, and while there are some plot holes it has potential.

Very much this! There's a lot to be said for unremarkable but very well done TV. It's like eating a really, really good ham sandwich.
Another fantastic episode of Mr Robot and another concept episode (there being virtually no words spoken). The chase was hilarious and marvellous too. Man alive the cinematography for a show that doesn’t have the highest ratings (as far as I know) is utterly amazing. I’m endlessly glad the team goes that extra mile for every episode.

I'm only on ep two of the new series but it is an outstanding continuation of an outstanding third series.

I have no idea if this is the final series, but it feels like it is. Loose ends long forgotten are back (to be tied?)
Yup, it’s the last season.
Have they done a musical one yet?

So I started to watch a bit of this and my jaw was almost on the floor!

Was that Carla from Scrubs!?

And, hold the fuck up, is that Sledge from Sledge Hammer!?

Oh boy, now THATS a theme tune!

Watched the first ep, the ham is good! Slightly expositional ham, but good quality ham nonetheless. Hopefully there is a decent smattering of HP sauce* in the coming episodes.

Have folk been watching The Watchmen on the telly?

It's bloody excellent, but I can barely remember the first thing about the comic or the film.

I'm forcing myself to enjoy it with only a dim recollection of prior characters and events.

So the fact it's as enjoyable as it is for an ignoramus like me, suggests it's doing something very right.

That said, I do wish I'd given myself a refresher beforehand.

I've got it on my pull list after it got decent initial reviews but I haven't started watching it yet; not sure when I'll get round to it.
Yeah I like Watchmen.

The first episode of The Mandalorian has arrived, and so far it's promising to be good.

It's only 38 minutes long so there's not much time to do more than introduce a few characters and have a plot point, but it has the look and feel of a gritty Star Wars just right.
Only 7 more episodes with the last one airing on the 27th December
I'm hoping that this will turn up on my (local friendly streaming service - ed) as I'm quite interested in it and can cope with a show that short.
It should already be there.
And there it is! Thank you very much friendly streaming man.

And there was me thinking I'd get some work done this morning. Oh well, there's always this afternoon.

I've just watched it and thought it was great. Looking forward to the rest of the series!
I did not like the twist at the end of the episode, but overall it was pretty good

Booooooooo! Now I know there's a twist, you inhuman bastard!
I thought the twist was quite well done. The twist is...
