It wears. Though others will disagree.

Caught up on Riverdale. It's legitimately excellent TV.
So did we decided whether the mist series was any good?
Old guys with hats always die. Women of any age wearing hats do not suffer the same mortality rate as these poor aged behatted men. It's #everydaysexism.
Just saw episodes 7 and 8 of Halt and Catch fire

That must have been the biggest gut-punch in the history of TV and Movies. When Gordon looked at Donna holding the baby in that flashback scene i completely lost it.

And if that wasn't enough, the next episode was equally sad and Haley couldn't even recover her dad's sweater. Poor Haley. She will remember the rest of her life how she was at odds with her dad when he passed away.

I watched the first episode and was told it wasn't worth continuing.

Anyone watching Ozark?

Really enjoyed it. Have I already mentioned this?
Yeah I thought Ozark was pretty good.
I’m so glad Mr Robot is back. It’s the best thing on TV right now.
It definitely isn't

I'm on ep5 and enjoying it, despite the presence of the woman with the huge mouth from the Vikings who can't act.

‘Cept it is. It’s brilliant.
First season of Mr. Robot was fine, second wasn't really. I have no idea about the 3rd... but judging from the previous seasons, there are much better shows around (Halt and Catch Fire is the most obvious example)
Really enjoying the second series of the expanse. Only on ep 4 or 5 and I'll be jiggered if I can see exactly where it's going. Best moment so far is

Miller and the bomb
, which was delightfully reminiscent of the companion cube in Portal.

In fact that episode as a whole was outstanding.
Both series were great, and Craster is big Mr Wrongface for saying otherwise.
I mean, on top of the rest of the reasons.
The grenade of other reasons he jumped on.
I was enjoying the Mist at ep 8 but then EVERYONE STARTED SNOGGING. EWWWWWW

I never said otherwise. I just said S1 was slower than a tortoise baked in treacle until about ep10.
YOU BLOODY DID. you went on about how slow and boring it was. It bloody wasn't. It was ace and well paced. It's just you've got a ridiculously short attention span.
Right, I'm getting on a plane. ON A PLANE.
You'd eat that.
S2e2 Riverdale is amazing. I will rewatch many many times.

Just. Wow.
Halt And Catch Fire ended in fine form. My eyes got dusty a few times.

Cameron and Donna's little spiel about Phoenix was magical. Lee Pace was heartbreaking when he did his speech about the Comet ad. Haley listening to her dad's recordings was a lump-in-throat moment. And the show finished as it began -- Joe talking to a classroom, saying "Let me begin with a question" -- because that's how you know someone went to film school.

I think I'll miss Bos most of all, though. Remarkable show.
We've just started HCF. Seems good so far.

Yes, It was hard for me to part with this show. They are all so likable, even egomaniacs like Joe and Cameron. But this season had such a melancholic vibe that wasn't present before.
Could I sell it to my non-nerd wife?
It's not about computers, it's about people. It's more like Mad Men than Mr Robot.
Yes, in other words.

Well, I dunno about that.

Our characters mostly got happy endings. Joe took his newfound wisdom and inner peace and escaped the rat race entirely. Donna and Cameron found a way to live with it, to pursue their passions but not be consumed by it. Bos and Dianne made time to "live a little."

It's always been a show about Icaruses -- people destroyed by the passions, but in the end, we see our surviving characters find a way to live fulfilled lives without the destructive monomania that ruled them in earlier years. I count that as a happy ending.
Mr Robot is mostly about people.
Yeah but it says nonsense shit about IP addresses in text files.

Gordon died! You can't escape the elephant in the room. That scene was probably the saddest thing i've ever see on TV (him looking back at his daughters growing up..... :'( :'( I'm getting all teary eyed again. And then there's all the heartbreak around Haley.

Joe escaped the rat race but left everyone he loved behind, again. Maybe i was asking a lot for him and Cameron to live happily together forever.

The first season was the one with more tech dialogue, and was centered mostly on Joe. My wife loved it since the beginning even though she didn't get orgasms everytime anyone mentioned the Amiga on the show, unlike me.

Right?! Fucking idiots.

Fortunately series 4 of a realistic tech show started the other day.

Yes, you're right, that was fucking awesome.
Some of the tech stuff in Person of Interest bugs me, as basically anything seems to be possible if you've got a laptop handy. I don't think I'd last long watching that Scorpion if that clip is anything to go by :)
Scorpion is about fun, and the stupidness of what it is they're doing is part of that. It very much pokes fun at itself - they broke into a safe with a hot dog sausage once.

You should watch it, if only because it really annoys Gaywood.
Oh, I see it's on Netflix. Added to my list.. let's see how long it lasts on there. :D

And that's what really annoyed me about Mr Robot - they went out of their way to establish that they were going for realism in portrayal of tech and hacking, then came out with unnecessary bullshit nonsense right from the start.
I stopped watching Person of Interest after the first episode because the entire premise was broken and stupid.

Was it myp?

After a while, that initial premise of a powerful supercomputer AI predicting terrorist incidents and planned murders etc. becomes the most plausible part of the programme. I think peak silliness was when -
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
the good AI moves itself to avoid the bad AI and ends up running on the power grid. Then, when the bad AI realises this and starts causing power cuts everywhere, the good guys, using some magical new compression algorithm and fancy processors, download a highly compressed version of the AI into a battery-powered briefcase in the hope of restoring/rebuilding the good AI at a later date.

The last bit is acebest.
Anyone watching "The Deuce"? It's HBO quality through and through from the writers of The Wire and produced and acted by James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhall.

It has much violence against women though. So much that now i have to see it on my own because my wife couldn't stomach it.
